Well, maybe. It's such a significant development landmark. It means the product is what it was designed to be; complete, whole. That's something that bears a lot of sentiment, I would think.
This is probably not the right place for this, but does anyone have problems with Skyrails after the new update? I just bounce back and forth now that I'm trying to use them:
And on the day of my bio final. You guys planned this so I wouldn't feel completely awful after what I'm pretty sure will be a failed test!
Loving the update, but the fact the watering can stops movement completely has turned me off from wanting to garden. I want to be able to at least akimbo my watering cans and run along watering everything since it takes 33 years to water crops now. I suppose I'll just have to wait until Avali Triage updates..... Keep up the great work though, Chucklefish. (But no seriously... revert the watering can change.)
CHAKRAMS?! WHERE?! spinning blades!! I must have em... SLICE!! circles!! oooh claws too! this ll be fun! time to break down some places!!
I love the vinefists! they're just amazing. Also if people didn't realize, you can equip 2 different gloves for 2 different finishers.
Seems to be running fine, but for some reason, when I'm holding certain items, they display in the wrong place. For instance, stimpacks look like I'm holding them with my elbow.
Actually... after sitting down to play for awhile, I'm actually pretty frustrated with the way combat is now. You can't even tactically "drop" on an enemy without taking "touch" damage. Hammer play is broken because of this... as is most every 2-hander-type gameplay. It's either guns if you want to avoid that, or hope you have fun dying every 5-10 minutes due to that mechanic. I can't seem to come from anywhere but the side of an enemy before it happens. I'd rather the "touch" damage be removed. It's like saying if I walk up to my cat in real life, my leg is going to break and split down the middle and bleed everywhere... it's like a Bubsy title with these mechanics.
I do agree that that is the only thing I'm disappointed with in this update. (most) Monsters not doing touch damage, and having to attack via telegraphed attacked made for much more entertaining combat. I thought it was a design feature you guys implemented awhile back?
Time to go enjoy my admin mode because contact damage makes it hard to sprint across planets and see if they have anything cool
O M G the LAG! areas with high amounts of NPCs.... lag. areas with high amounts of sand/silt/slush.... lag. areas with high amounts of particles... lag. I know optimization is later, but dang yo!
I love the new update but the game runs slower now, its a 2D platformer it shouldn't lag this much. please fix thanks
Well.. Hello, everyone. Nice to meet you all! I'm afraid i have less than happy news. Some of you may remember me from the last update. I assure, this is not that emotion-laden rant. This is simply me trying to point out one of what i consider to be a majour blunder on Chucklefish's part. This is not about the vehicles, or the weapons, or the backgrounds. Those are welcome improvment. No, the slip-up this time..Is the implementation of what will soon be repetitive creature sightings. I don't mean to enrage you, but please read for a moment. Pre-update, Every single planet on starbound was unique not just in it's trees, or lands, But in it's biology. Even if you visited the same kind of planet over and over, Diffrent creatures would be waiting. Each planet, unique, and intresting. Something new every time. Now, i have no problem with the new creatures. (Some of them sing. I find this rather peaceful.) but i had thought them an welcome addition. Not as an replacement! These new creatures will be sighted on every single planet you go to. the same ones, over and over! What will happen when you've been on the same char for over 4 months? How many times will you have seen pretty much all of them? Does chucklefish expect us to do only marginal searches of galaxies, and not take advantage of the aformentioned galaxy's sheer magnitude? I won't argue with any of you about this, and i don't mean to cause offense. I openly welcome any refutes or counter-arguments to my claim. I seriously hope I've missed something in all this. Thank you for reading this, and i hope you have a nice day. *EDIT* Wow, I'm an unobservant moron. I hadn't even noticed that there were still randomly-happening creatures around. Please, feel free to point and laugh. (Also, Those backgrounds are wonderous.)
I agree completely with the all above sentiments about touch damage. I'm hating it *so* much it's hard to appreciate the other positive additions in this update. 100% touch damage only dumbs-down the game in a way that digresses from any interesting, strategic combat. While it may be appropriate for a few enemies that are poisonous or on-fire, this is hardly fitting for the vast majority of mobs. And to reiterate others' further, please further develop the telegraphing-styled combat (without touch damage). That was exactly what made Starbound's combat fun and feel unique from every other run-of-the-mill platformer title. Otherwise, this is just going backwards.
In just like 5 planets I've seen every unique creature and nothing on any of the planets have been neutral
