Hello, i'm very new to spriting and made few sprites (2 ) today 2-3-12 and i hope your guys can give me some pointers on how to master pixel art !! I use Windows 7 Paint. Having problems with bad quality when uploading. 1.A Mech This is my very first creation and took me about 2 hours to make (pathetic right? >.>) 2.Post-Beak Docktor I thought this one came out better and uses the template for Starbound charaters (Took 1 hr) P.S: Notice the higher quality of shading then the mech. 3. Lizard Mech This takes shading to a new level for me I felt that this was starting to look very weird without the outlines but then came out pretty good.(1 hr mostly shading) 4.Mini Orbit Bomber This reminds me of the megaman bee ship thingy. (took me only 30 min) And still don't know how to increase its size.(i tried dragging but nope) 5.Kingmikaze Had fun with this. Shading for the crown was kinda hard and making the legs always threw me off.(30 min) 6.Energy Minigun My first weapon i made. I know the weapons and the barrels are at different angels but you get the general idea. This is not Starbound style its just concept art i guess.. (1 hr) The boxes on the side are nothing, just experimenting with directional lighting. 7. Carrier Pigeon Yes i know the bird has ears >.> I noticed that i've only come up with some serious pictures so i decided i'll make a few fun ones as well.(20 min) 8.Environment 1 My first environment picture and turns out im horrible at it making the characters was kinda fun though (30 min)
Great job pal! Keep them coming, you will get better with every one. I love seeing all these different sprites, people have different art styles even in pixles. More please ^_^

These are good. Don't worry, it'll get faster and better each time. Every time you get more experienced and learn something new, you'll be able to do it better and faster. Good job though
Are you still doing these? I like the krabmikaze and the energy minigun, I was wondering if you still had interest in spriting, because you're really good. Plus I thought this thread needed a bump
Oh yea, i just want to widen my future a bit in case I can get a job as a spriter i would have some experience, but mostly this is just for fun. (Thanks for the bump )

I really like the creativity and variety in each sprite. My favorite is the Kingmikaze. The shading is really well done for a beginner and is practically game-implementable quality.
I tried this and made some background with it and turns out im horrible at environments . (got lazy with the surroundings)
