The thing is you can already run. There is a sprite for it, don't come and tell me there is not. If you want to sprint which is defined as "running faster", you would need a certain item.
GOTTA GO FAST Yeah, let's do sprinting. I can't really say much that would be innovative for sprinting. It's like, older than the wheel. However, some items should create effects when sprinting, like making you knock enemies back on contact.
Sorry, But I'm going to have to agree with FrankBiscuit on this one...as much as a sprinting mechanic may be neat, I think items that improve ones speed would be better overall, and could allow for more dynamic game-play (having more options as far as speed is concerned).

I'd love to sprint! But remember.. remember remember the days of Terrar...ia, they had things you make you move faster :barefeet: So of course it makes sense for a sprint, so they will need to balance it with fast moving items
