(spoilers) What happens to shane when jojamart closes down?

When you get to the point in the story that Jojamart closes down, what happens to shane? they were his employer.

I feel kinda bad because I have the highest heart level with him out of anyone in town and I hope he gets a job somewhere else.

 

He becomes a raging alcoholic, hitting up the Saloon most days.

 

Shane and Linus clearly both need to be employed on your farm.

 

It would be better if Pierre would hire him. perhaps part time on wednesdays.

 

You think Pierre is going to hire someone and have to give them a living wage? He's busy rolling the mad money he makes from being the only source of your seeds.

 

Shane should come be the 'farmboy' on the farm - he can do the heavy lifting and stocking and muck out the stalls (not that our chickens, goats, sheep, or cows ever poop for some reason... o.0 ). Either that, or all his experience with the Joja Mart should convince him to open up a competing store against Pierre - he can undercut by like 5g and make a mint, since players will gladly save that tiny extra bit of gold every time!

 

Hmm I like that Farmboy idea mwhaha...Then again Personally I think he should open up his own chicken farm as a way to rivial us good hard working honest farmers

 

I hope so, that Pierre makes lots of money ...
after all I married his daughter ...
and when Pierre one day finally retires, Abby and myself will form a great business empire ... with myself having the monopoly for the production of agricultural goods in the region ... and Abby the monopoly for their sale

and then become the one suppling his store with your -coughs- product ... That'll teach him to charge me for "Quailty" Seeds...

I kinda figured Shane would be employed in the Community Center in one way or another, sadly he wasn't. Neither can I hire him for anything, sad.

 

He turns to drugs and alcohol, his faith in humanity gone. He now knows that even this hardworking, friendly farmer that came into town (the player) is just another selfish person, bound by simplistic black and white morality and in championing supposedly "good" choice of rebuilding community center showing no regard for poor laid off Jojo employees - sad people, despairing and ashamed that they betrayed the trust of their close ones and now unable to support them.

Hope you're proud of yourself.

More seriously now: nothing happens, probably it wasn't thought through. Though I would like more plot developments and endgames than just "choose and commit yourself to one of the two options".

Shane spends most of his time at the Saloon pre-destruction of Joja Mart. After you kick Joja mart out, it's more hanging out there because it's not like he has anything else to do other than take care of the chickens on Marnie's ranch. (Yet another reason I want to be able to marry him. even the current bland as hell married life would be an improvement for him, regardless of the state of Joja Mart.)

 

Yea and he has no loveintrest before you come to this hellhole of infidelity
