Specialization through Blueprints

When playing Starbound I can't help but wonder: Should my character really know how to do craft all these things? I just though it would make the game more challenging in the long run if players had to specialize in something. Not just be able to do everything. How would you do this? Blueprints.

Here is my idea: Instead of just knowing all the crafting tables and how to use them, you use the Inventor's Table to craft a blueprint of it.
Blueprints themselves could require paper and a few Manipulator (OR Upgrade) Modules to craft. Once you craft and use a blueprint, you then learn how to craft and use that crafting station.
You could then make more use of it later in the game with a 'brainstorm' crafting option. You will craft a random blueprint of an item/weapon/furnishing.
Not everything needs to be learned from a blueprint, such as the furnace or the basic items of each station.

So that is my concept. Any thoughts or ideas?
