Spawners (How do they work)

I've got a stim shop keeper spawner but i do not know how to make him spawn has any one figured out these things?

 

I placed two spawners inside my base and overnight they spawn two NPCs. Hope that helps.

 

Have you tried in your ship? because that's where I'm trying to spawn it

 

Works the same for ships too, I have a doctor on-board now

 

When you place a spawner inside your ship, leave the ship after placing the spawner and when you return the NPC should be there.

 

You have to move away from the spawners in order for it to spawn I think. I put one in my ship, beamed down to the planet and then back up a couple of minutes later and it spawned

 

Don't suppose there is a way to de-spawn the NPC and get the spawner back? The spawner was a place item, I kind of assume I'd be able to pick it up and relocate it...

 

Nope, one use sadly. Don't worry about it though, the cost may seem high at first but soon it becomes easy to gain pixels and ore when you progress. Also note that if the NPC die, be it from you or monsters, it won't respawn again. I acidently killed my co-pilot with a miss-click

had a doctor spawner on my planet i just went off screen ( walked to the right till i couldnt see my house) and went back to my house to see an avian doctor in my house

 

The cost? Oh, I found mine. You found a vendor selling them.
And yea, noticed about the dying, my chef walked to close while I was trying my new blade. Oh well, not like I needed to be able to buy food anyway.

 

Just a warning guys, don't try to the scan the spawners. I scanned a chef spawner yesterday and it went throught but it does not show up in the printer list, so it just went missing.

 

wow... I never actually figured out what the 3D printer did until I saw this post. Thanks lol
EDIT: Which also made me realize what the pixel-value on items were for

 

Just found a chef spawner last night and was wondering how they worked/how long it took. Thanks for the info!
