No, not pirate ships. I wrote the player ship. Most people want to have it untouchable. And the question would be, why should the enemy stop firing on the player when he is disabled? I personally don't see any reason against ship crashing, at long the ship is tough enough to survive the crash. Only thing the player have to do then would be to repair the ship, then he can launch again. Don't think people would see it as to bad, this way. I personally like the idea of the engineer, but would like it more to be able to repair aswell. Possible you don't have an engineer first, but can hire one. NPCs as upgades for your ship.
It's a neat idea, but you really need to calm down with the double, triple and quadruple-posts, there's no reason to fear the Edit feature.
This forum features the option to edit a post, rather than making another one mere seconds later. It is much preferred to edit a post and add to it, makes for a more tidy thread and prevents you from looking like you are trying to repeatedly bump your own thread.
I have a question for you all. Would you like the pirates to be a race to themselves, like space skeletons or something?
It would be awesome to have some pirates be space skeletons, like 25% or so. Though if that is done, I want them to be on a genuine pirate ship, with giant solar sails for masts, made out of wood, and the hacker throws an anchor onto your ship to "hack" it. Because that would be AMAZING.
I could go for chemically treated wood. Or maybe they have some sort of anti-radiation forcefield that prevents the wood from heating up too much.
Actually wood would not burn in space. The only time wood would burn is during "re-entry" or inside where there is oxygen.
It depends on the amount of radiation emitted by the star. If it can heat the interior to the autoignition temperature of wood, then it'll burn from the inside out. But if the space pirates are some form of undead (You could probably explain it with nanotechnology or a similar way as the Novakid. Then you could have the interior be a vacuum so that wood won't burn at all until you expose it to an oxidizer.
And we just had a science exam *exactly* (not totally) on the subject (triangle of fire). Yes, it could be nice, but pseudo, remember that space pirates are only normal people who chose another way of life. It's not a new race or anything...
Failed on that MUAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA no but seriously. If they are skeletons, they are all skeletons... it would be fun if we could see different body parts of different races on those skeletons!
Where is da chef?! He provide valuable buffs to your crew by feeding them exotic food! Your men will lose moral eating crappily made food day after day.
Well, I don't think a cook would be a good idea since the devs have already added a complete cooking section in the game.
