In my Oppinion it would be cool if there would be space stations in some star systems. They could serve as a trading post for ship upgrades i.e. better Fuel usage, extra rooms, improved ship sensors. You could use them to put up sidequests like aquiring items from specific star systems or bounty hunting of a specific enermy. Some could be set up as a gas station to get fuel for pixels instead of mining. I've read about the discussion on fog of war in the starmap, maybe you can only find them using coordinates found in outposts on different planets. or with improved sensors.
It is a good idea but i really would prefer these on land (or both) It would be good to use it as a gas station because in the start of a new character fuel is a pain
