WIP Space Pirate Armor + Cannon

Here's the original concept. Cannon is separate and will get some tweaking. Looked at it this morning and didn't like it too much.


Update 1: Hat's done. There's a little overlap with the bigger hairstyles. Does anyone know if there is a line of code in the armor item somewhere that lets you override hair?



Update 2: Chest in progress. The collar is attached to F and Bsleeves respectively so it's going to take abit longer trying to keep both pieces in synch with all the animations.



Finals until next Thursday. Will work on the armor after.

 

There should be a mask.png file in the copper armor folder (or any armor folder). The negative space in that .png will hide any protruding hair.
This is the mask for my bear hood, you should make a white fill of the head item. You should also make the face white so your hat doesn't hide beaks/beards/etc.

 

i am dissapoint i tht this was the first Metroid mod
we got the morphball for christ sake its just begging for it

Dang I was hoping for a space pirate from Metroid xD

 

Hmm, been working on the chest piece. Is head sprite priority over body hardcoded or can I somehow get a part of the chest piece (ie high collar) to cover up part of the head sprite like with that object mask for the helmet?

 

I guess you could make it work with front sleeve.

Edit: Worked like a charm. Although animating arms just got a whole lot more tedious.
