What if there where Space Marines NPCs that one could interact with. They could work as some form of a faction and they would have amazing gear (for looting after a battle) of buffs to your space travel (if befriended). I remember seeing a screenshot somewhere of a couple of characters inside a spaceship with some Alien-Franchise-esque items (the armor, rifles, and ship it self) if would be nice to see a little something along those lines.

Sure there is PVP and PVE, but this does not mean Starbound is the next Halo game in the series. This can stay away from that completely if it wishes to.
Space marines = Halo? Ok, I guess Warhammer Doom Metroid Star Wars and much more are all Halo spinoffs?
Hmm...i highly doubt there will be space marines or 'that' interactive npcs in the first place. There will most likely be scenic npcs and traders in villages, or something like that, if i'm not mistaken
It's already in the realm of possibility that we could have a village, base, or something to that extent of NPCs that may end up being "space marine" equivalents. We don't know how varied the NPCs will be after all.
