Why not fill up those bland asteroid fields with Space stations, or even better Space fleets! Teleport into a vacant Space mine on an asteroid and fight your way into a big Pirate ship to loot them looters! Or Meet up with a Makeshift spaceship trail on the run from whatever? Trade fuel for Resources, accept quests, use em as temporary Hubs and base of operation! Grind them down for resources or expand em! The possibilitys are GREAT!
On a related note, perhaps the asteroid fields could do with some additional dungeons, including a (derelict) battleship, or a space station.
