Soooo, is beta out?

I'm looking at the Humble page and it says I can download the beta here when it comes out, but there's no download anywhere on the page or in any of the links.

So I'm wondering if something is wrong or if the beta is even out.

 

The beta will be available on steam in about 44 minutes

 

You'll be emailed a Steam key once it is out... Which I think is in ~45 minutes..but will no doubt be later.

 

Ah no my friend, you see, it's "there" for when they allow the beta to be downloaded, I am sure that the Chucklefish programmers are busy fixing a few things before that

Have you not read all the updates about how the beta will work?

 

Pretty sure they are using Steam as the initial distribution for the beta. I don't believe you will have access outside of steam until later on in the development process.

 

Yep, Steam only unless you're one of the few people who got earlier access. And those people typically know who they are.

The better question is: Why wouldn't you use Steam. It's insanely popular for a reason, and really should be on every gamer's computer. It's the best thing to happen to PC gamers, especially indie gamers, in... forever.

 

Are you from 1972? How was stuff back then, man?

 

Steam jacks up my system for some unknown reason, hence why I loath to use it. I get crashes and problems galore whenever I use Steam.

 

Actually no, I got it through Humble in around August and I have been following Star Citizen development since then.
