Sonic generators would produce a steady stream of powerful sonic waves, slowly draining your battery power like the crystal storm in Terraria. Also, you can not move while using them. Creatures hit by the sonic waves will be either knocked back (Small creatures), stopped (Medium-sized creatures), or slowed (Large creatures). They could also have a chance to be confused,or whatever the equivalent would be, for a few seconds after escaping the blast. Another idea I had was that if two sonic generators were fired at each other, a resonation area would form. Things inside would vibrate very quickly and become a little...unstable. Loosely attached creations, like half-broken robots or certain types of blocks would be destroyed. Functioning robots would start freaking out, and small creatures would start taking damage. That's all I can think of for now, and I have no idea whether or not the resonation stuff would be hard to program. If something seems overpowered, please let me know.
I like it! And you could make them into guns that are longer ranged! Also known as long ranged acoustic devices. Sonic weapons. Woo!
Ummm did you know sonic wave could kill you? In research sonic it is the wave of sound and like us we are able stand some sound wave. If the sound reach extremely high, it can kill us by sonic wave with extremely high pitch. Sonic wave is not only meant for killing, they can be annoying to bugs with antennas which bother them then move away far from the sound. sonic generators can be use defs, or deadly force this bring it is either that sonic generator is a risk taker cuz it might hurt allies as well because of that is it matter who's ear is going be in pain a lot.
But of course! If a bomb explodes, it is the shockwave that kills people. The pressure travels through the air and then the body, in a sense liquifying it (rather nastily). Shockwaves from explosions are quite deadly, as people can probably guess -- and all a soundwave is is a low intensity pressure wave in the air. So yes -- that sound could kill you if loud enough would make sense to Sal'rith.
