Hi everyone, I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I am concerned whether the devs gave it a thought or not. It's if harder planets will have different biomes (because Tiy said planets' difficulty can vary from 1 to 100). The reason I am concerned about it is because the game will get linear if not so, going through the same biomes over and over again.

I suspect that most biomes will not be directly connected to difficulty, but difficulty will instead be created by the creatures roaming in them. A swamp could have huge mosquitoes to make it easy, or a mech t-rex for a super scary swamp. Although some biomes might be inherently dangerous, like if they have man-eating plants or lava, those might cause a biomes difficulty to rise just be being there. That is how I suspect it will go.

But what's the point if you progress further into the game but you are still in the same biomes? (apart from the fact everything is unique ) I hope that the generation of biomes in harder worlds will also depend on the planet's difficulty. (for example if forest can spawn on planets between 1-35 and lava biomes can spawn for example on 30-80 there is a chance to encounter both on one planet) I hope you get my point. :D

Why would forests be limited to 1-35? You would encounter both on one planet because they are the same level area.

Well, I imagine there will be hard versions of starting biomes later in the game (as say, cerevox's example) as well as biomes that are generally more difficult, such as a volcanic planet plagued with living magma geysers and such. But I'm just kinda shooting in the dark and such on this topic.

I suspect all biomes will be on all planet levels, but may only generate certain ways on higher difficulties. Ex. A regular forest can spawn on any planet, but apocalyptic forests only spawn on level 80+. Not linear, but keeps people interested in exploring more and more.

I shouldn't have given those two for example since they can be considered as "regular biomes". I was trying to say that it would be cool if the chances of encountering a certain biome depended also on the level of the planet, not only what was in that biome depended on its difficulty. Why would you need forests on every planet though? I believe you can make torches with wood, but we will have a flashlight. Except if you are a big fan of forest biomes or something.

It'd be really cool to see geysers and volcanoes! I want to see a metal biome/planet! :D

Who says you're going to encounter difficulty in any sort of order? You're allowed to go to any co-ordinates you want, so you could go straight to the hardest planet, containing the most difficult monsters!
Also I am pretty sure that difficulty and biome are separate characteristics of the planets, and therefore you will find a nice even mix between them unless you specifically search out planets whose surfaces are of a specific type!

Because, why make a bunch of expensive electrical lanterns to leave on planets you may never return to, when you can use an abundant resource such as wood to create torches to stick on the walls of caves.
