Some things about the recent patch

I'm quite happy that Starbound is in beta, believe me, and I had a nice char and the recent patch wiped it but I'm okay with that. What I'm not okay with is the fact that after 4 hours of a new char, I have less copper than I do anything else. My other ores are gold, iron and silver, which are extremely easy to find now. I don't even have enough copper to make a chestplate, yet I have enough iron to make a full set of the scavenger armour. This is really making me frustrated, as I am killed easily by monsters on my starter planet even. 15 damage per hit from them (I don't have any armour). Also, I can't figure out which planets are more difficult than others, because they're all threat 1. If there was maybe a threat 1.1, 1.2 and so on, that could be useful. I really don't mean to come off as negative, it's more constructive criticism. Some things could probably and hopefully be tweaked in the next update, and I hope they are.

They're all threat level 1 cause they're all easy.
An entire sector doesn't have the same threat level, once you reach the harder ones (X specifically) they can range by 2 or 3.

If you're lacking copper have you tried traveling to a new planet? You say you've found tonnes of other ore, why not just explore another planet for copper then? Or better yet just go straight to making silver armour.

It's a game about exploration, you shouldn't stick to one planet and if you have explored and still haven't found copper, well you're unlucky, keep exploring. I had to go through at least 5 planets before I found a decent supply of aegisalt.

I'd suggest making yourself a hunting knife / bow and making the leather set instead. It'll be useful when / if you go to snow / tundra planets, and it's still got really good armour values.

Alright, I'll restart my Steam, and hopefully get this update. Thanks!
Yeah, the problem remains with the wrath-of-god birds, but I'll give it a shot.

Some other things about the newest patch.

Had to restart again because all my crops got erased as well as all the seeds I currently had In my possession (had boneboo, glowmelon, wheat, and chili - and chili rocks for the speed buff, I had a very nice garden for early game)

I wasn't willing to lose all sources of food so early on so I feel the need to restart.

Also yes the birds thing. Ouch. It was fine before, why the change?

I also seem to have encountered a bug that allowed my health to drop below zero. A flock of birds followed me into my house as I tried to run away. Somehow I took several hits for 25-ish damage with just one sliver of life left and managed to survive. Health dropped to zero on the display, and it took a pretty long time laying in bed before the first bar became visible.

They're supposed to be fixed in this patch :p

Yea, they're specifically mentioned. They accidentally made birds homicidal gods of DEATH

I believe armour is broken in this patch... I also know that shields are broken, all of them only protect from 6 damage... >.<

Yes, Khyren personally went around feeding all the bird mobs their halcyon meds.

Every sector has a set threat level. The only reason the X sector has multiple threat levels is due to the fact that it combines all the incomplete content (tiers 5-10) into a single sector. This will change as they finish more content.

Whoops, that's my bad, wonder why didn't just set it at 4 and leave it at that though. Could make the higher threat levels just show up when new sectors are released.
