Mmh, in my eyes, the design of the characters is great because their graphics-style seems retro but unique and fresh, also due to the "one-pixel-eyes" .

The second picture is just plain creepy.

I wonder If that race just secretly follows you around until it can catch you off guard. Think about it, your walking along nonchalantly, when you start hearing odd noises, so you turn around and HOLY JESUS TAP-DANCING CHRIST RED OOD HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING YOU THIS ENTIRE TIME

 

I doubt it considering that monster is completely randomized

 

I'm hoping the second race will be a true creeper, stalking and watching but never getting involved. Blocking doorways so you can't get out and making you rage until you finally try to assault them; in which case they immediately disappear.

Well assuming it's COMPLETELY randomized, then it is possible for it to develop a behavior such as that, that may not be whats going on in the screenshot, but if you take a look you'll notice that neither of them are moving.
