(Solved) Can't Use Previous Save File - Mac

There's no saves folder for Stardew Valley on Mac, or any folder for it really. Even when I go to Finder/Library/Application Support it's not listed there. Nor is it through the Steam files. When I go to Browse Local Files through Steam itself I find more options but nothing that will allow me to access a previous save file.

Have you run the game on Windows before? Steam is supposed to copy your save file across for you.

Save files should be in ~/StardewValley/Saves on Mac, once you've run the game.

I have, I put about 28 hours into it so far but the file didn't end up transferring.

That file doesn't exist for me, my computer acts like it's not even installed but I have loaded it up.

(I know where to go to find my Library files)

Steam cloud acts strangely when running games between two OSs, happens with a lot of other games. You might have to manually copy it over.

I've been trying, can't figure out where to put it because there is no save folder when I go to Browse Local Files.

I believe saves go in ~/StardewValley/saves, not in the game files.

This is where it should be, right?

I don't use a mac myself, so let me look up OS X directory structure....

Ah, so the full path to the saves should (in theory) be:

                  (your primary harddrive)/Users/BlueArmy/StardewValley/Saves

"~/" usually means your user directory. If it's not there, I have no idea where it is.

My computer is acting like it doesn't have it installed even after uninstalling and reinstalling. Thanks for your help though, I appreciate it.

                    Just found this under cloud_log.txt

What happens if you try and reach "/Users/BlueArmy/.config/StardewValley/Saves" via 'Go to folder' in finder? as this should be where the saves are located.
Is your character called Ark? because if so it appears that a save file exists for that character.

That's what ended up working, thank you so much! I had to manually copy my save into that folder.

I can confirm this. Played on PC, moved to a Mac.

                            1. Steam cloud sync did not sync the PC saved game. It found the same log item in cloud_log.txt that AlekC19 did, "Skipping download of file StardewValley/Saves/OldMan_117343281/OldMan_117343281 to our platform"
                            2. Manually copying the save file from my PC to "~/.config/StardewValley/Saves/" caused Stardew Valley to pick up the save and allow me to play. Also, checking the cloud_log.txt, it looks like my PC save file has been resynced to steam cloud, after moving it to ~/.config/StardewValley/Saves/
                            Thanks
