So...What did you expect after 1.0 release?

Me too! but the biggest thing I want to see is Director Mode!
I would like to also see spaceship events or even a ship combat system. Holiday themed quests or content. More biomes, more loot, more monster pieces and attacks, more dungeons, more RNG quest variants... pretty much just more what they put in!

I'd also like to see content that does not revolve around exploration, combat or building added. You know like mini-games to play or hobbies to do in character. Something different to do when we wanna play but want some downtime.

certain words or phrases, yes. only one interpretation can be used because no other has set a precedent.

at any rate, I hope they make some sort of replayable exploration/combat-centric something-or-other.

That's EXACTLY how it works, DLC literally stands for Downloadable Content. There's just so many companies adding price tags that associating DLC with paid content has become the norm, even though Free DLC is very much a thing.

right, but the entirety of Starbound a DLC does not constitute. the rest of the story, the combat, the RELEASE is not a DLC. hence, Early Access.

Oh, of course. I thought s/he was talking about later expansions, not 1.0.

Wild guess - we'll get 1.0, then maybe 1.1, which will "fix" some of 1.0 problems.

Combat was always tedious - I wouldn't expect major mechanical changes or improvements.

oh, yeah. that'd be DLC, free or otherwise. I wise under a different impression perhaps.

For me, updates after 1.0 are patches, because in fact, the game gets offered as 1.1 or whatever, but never again as 1.0. DLC is something that you can activate, that's an optional choice that you can make.

Starbound's not an MMO lol, you don't *have* to download updates. I haven't updated it in months.
I don't think Starbound is releasing in 1.1.

If you play via Steam, you'll most likely download the newest version. In addition, Cf always stops support of the previous versions whenever they release a new version, and their new versions, even after 1.0, will never be "dlc" for me.

right, see? it's not really DLC. granted, I haven't played Starbound and will continue not to until 1.0 drops, but I think of DLC as something like Dungeon of the Endless, where you generally pay to get bonus characters and ships (scenarios) to play with. but they're not necessary.

the entire rest of the game though? pretty much necessary. hence, not DLC.

speaking of post-1.0 stuff, I actually came up with this super end-game boss gauntlet idea with some off-hand funny lore implications. apologies if I posted it already. here it is.

Aside from planet chat (Which will hopefully be added back shortly after release), I'd love seeing a bunch of new biomes. Biomes with new blocks, enemies, weapons, all sorts of great stuff. I know mods can fulfill that niche, but having it in vanilla would be super great. I love absolutely bizarre, alien landscapes for example, and wish Starbound would have more of them - more than just the "Alien" biome (which to me is just super generic "alien" stuff, not actually interesting alien stuff. eh.)
Better monster generation would be nice, too. More varied attacks are always welcome.
More missions would be great - either optional sidequests, or perhaps even more "story" quests. I haven't gotten very far in Unstable right now, so I have no idea if that would even be sensible.

My main Problems are the 2ndary abilities, like the Sword ability that makes you jump/whirl/bash forward just to get your enemy *AND* yourself damaged ...whats the point of that? man i hate the touch damage a lot.

I might be blind but i havent seen any planets with diffrent gravity, light colors or ... random monsters? where are they, i thought the game created random enemies, i seem to run into the same 7 to 8 diffrent monsters all the time.

And i must admit i was super dissappointed when i realized that:
    - not every tree produces saplings
    - mechs are gone
    - i cant craft randomly generated weapons
    - i get a random pet (fuuuu the only thing i do not want to be fukkn random!)
    - the incredible terror of the erichus miners is a ... pink penis with a toothed vagina mouth and stick figure arms *almost pissed myself when i saw him, let go beeing scared
    - there is no way to mark things in your inventory as favorites - man i hate it -hate - hate - hate

still, this game is good and has great potential ...

I know this is an angry topic so I was reluctant to add my thoughts to the pile: I was hoping there would be a way to skip the mining facility by 1.0, that it was a fluke or something to force potentially rigid grind and dungeon stomp on the player, rather than a "do what you want sandbox universe). I know, I know "do this, do this, do this = solution," I've read the myriad topics on the subject. I just don't enjoy the slog on the first planet. I play star bound for one reason - space travel. I don't enjoy the grind for the stuff to beat the mine, and I don't enjoy the mining facility (the combat just isn't that incredible, dungeons stomping I can get from other games), dying and starting over. I know, I know "but it is so easy I beat it in one try just have 10 million bandages!" That slog, yeah. I want to space travel, see other worlds. It's literally the reason I boot the game rather than terraria.
