So what did I just come across here?

So I was exploring when I found a rather large cave, which had quite a few smaller caves branching off from it. One of the branches lead to some odd stone material, which in turn lead to a large cavern filled with said stone material, purple liquid that floated in some areas, (I could jump through the bottom and swim up to the top) some sort of brick pathway, a frog statue, and a couple golden fountains. The pathway eventually lead to two separate rooms with frog merchants in them. Enemies in the area also seemed to be a bit more disturbing and challenging than previously encountered. Being as I haven't come across this on my previous characters, I'm just curious as to what I've stumbled into.

Area that'll pop up fairly deep underground - They're pretty common, at least as far as I've seen. The frog merchants sell some nice pickaxes if you're just starting off, and the pots around 'em give a good bit of pixels. So far, whenever I've run into those areas, I've found at least 2 merchants.

You will soon encounter somewhat of a frog resistance. Maybe I've said to much...

Tell me, is this tomb almost directly beneath your planet's spawn? Because that's a pattern I've seen thus far, and I want more evidence to see if it holds.

Yup, I have a temple next to my spawn point. Maybe a screen or two away.

The reason the liquid is floating is that the area was built in after the world generation and happened to cut through an underground pool. I've seen it a couple times, and I'm pretty sure it'll fall if you mess with the blocks around it.

I'm starting to think liquids and sand/gravel need to be pre-settled. Sand already collapses a lot more dramatically than in terraria or minecraft, and the fact that it's able to generate in impossible situations means desert planets are basically one big cave-in waiting to happen.
