So we can Tame monsters, we know that.. But does that count Aquatic monsters?

It's been talked about a lot and I really look forward to it, being able to tame the creatures you find. We also know Flying creatures exist and are generated too, you'd assume you could tame those, because intergalactic falconry is the coolest thing ever.
But.. what about the procedurally generated aquatic creatures?
Can you tame them at all? If so, do they only work in the water? Or do they just float, Pokemon Stadium style?

Or hey, if you wanted to be really creative, some kind of apparatus that gave them the ability to levitate and function like a slightly different aerial creature, that you craft or find later on? (Maybe something commonly seen on Hylotl worlds? Hmmmm? Pet fish and all that?)
    Hmm?

I almost imagined a battle shark mount, flopping hastily across land, laser-beam mounted onto its head appropriately, hylotl dutifully seated in the saddle.

    Aerial pets would be sick!
Imagine taming a creature, raising it until it was much larger, and training it to use a saddle. Zoom!

I'd like to see some aquatic animals, but it would be weird seeing a fish out of water even if you give them some kind of suit.
Also for the aerial pets: #lazy_avian

Nah not a suit. That'd be too hard to model with the generator, and also take away from the creatures cool colours and design.
Not really a bubble either, hard to explain.
Maybe it'd just float with the gear, but when it got near the ground, there'd be some kind of ground effect gust.
maybe the gear changes the creatures swim bladder to hold something lighter than air?

I would honestly find it weird that this game would pick and choose what kinds of monsters that you can tame within reason. (Not gonna tame a boss I assume) Really I see any monster as fair game to taming. I could be wrong but I honestly don't see it likely the other way.

You have items to spawn the monsters from our ship ;3

So if the conditions aren't satisfied, maybe you can't summon them ;)

Or maybe if spawned they will be only visible when YOU are submerged :)

If Tiy doesn't make aquatic monsters tamable, I will personally come to his house and have a heated discussion wich I will probably lose.

And then you'll angrily slam his door, unless it looks like it'll be loud or damage the door, then you won't.

While not confirmation of tamable aquatics; a recent shot of some Hylotl armor does hint at such in a very indirect way:

I'll have to second this. I imagine summoning one of your pets will beam it down from you ship similar to the way the player does. If there's not a legal place for your pet to be, ie: no water for your aquatic pet, then you probably just can't bring that particular pet out.

However, with entire planets being oceanic, it would stand to reason that there will be aquatic pets in the game. I very much look forward to it.

Aquatic pets? Awesome! Definitely need freakin' sharks with laser beams to ride on.
Or failing that Nessy, who can breathe beams of energy.
Either way all pets will be awesome!:alien:

What if they make a monster vs monster arena? like a space station where you get to swap, train,& compete with monsters you've encounter on your travels? Maybe you could also give people the means of farming a certain type of monster in your lab?(like that DNA virorb seen in the monster monster contest?)
