Has there been any talk about putting in a home insurance feature because a METEOR JUST LANDED ON MY HEAD, IN MY OWN HOME AND DESTROYED EVERYTHING! Save for a tiny 1/25 of my home.

This actually almost happened to me too. But the meteor landed exactly next to my house. It was hilarious.

How can this happen? I mean, meteorites are pretty rare and planets are pretty big. So i would say meteorites are much to common right now.... as it seems. Should be more like winning the lottery rare.

No matter how big planet is, meteorite will allways aim on player's head, or, at least, within the screen borders.

Just build a block of Cobblestone just thick enough that there's a dark band in the middle (I think around 12-16 squares thick). Extend it a little wider than your settlement and the meteors won't break through. As far as I can tell, the weather only triggers when you're there. So if there's a storm, just hop up there and grab the broken blocks and refill.

Well 3% chance that every 2nd weather cycle is a meteorite shower which sounds rare... but we dont know: How frequent is each weather cycle set (currently we got 3 different cycles according to the [biomename].surface located in assets), how long does a weathercycle last, are there specifications for different weathereffects? What I can tell that the 3 weathercycles we got now are running PARALEL to eachother, means all are running at the same time. I saw already meteorites and rain together. But not Rain and Glowrain, since those are listed in the same cycle.

I mean, 3% on 10000 or more people playing a game is really really much. A 3% chance, that means, in theory, that from 10000 people ~300 people experienced a meteorite cycle on their second weathercycle. And in addition to that ~100 would experienced a large meteorite (0.01 chance = 1% chance according to datafiles) on their 3rd weathercycle.

Well no matter how you put that, and honestly imo there cant be enough threads about that. There has to be either a propper protection against meteorites coming very soon, or their chances have to be lowered by alot or certain planets have 0 chance for meteorites, maybe it shouldnt be listed as biome attribute anymore, but more in the size of a planet, presence of asteoroid fields in the solarsystem, later on components of the planets atmosphere and so on.

Hopefully they add this feature very soon, I mean I love risks in game, and the weather system is awesome, but risks should be counterable, nothing luckbased should be at all in any games imo...
I love meteorites as a concept, but not as a risk or danger you cannot resolve, a danger you have currently on all planets. Once this feature got optimized and changed to something better its probaly a really awesome addition to the game.

    For me more likely:

Meteorites 1 You 3 [Changed biomes so they dont have them at all anymore [Biomes with considerable thick atmosphere]]
