Do they eat people to get high?

 

They're the Shroom Merchant and Shroom Guard in the game files (shroommerchant.npctype & shroomguard.npctype). Interestingly enough, searching for "shroom" in the directory brings up an entire furniture set. However, it looks like they aren't anything special as that one with the green mushroom head is apparently just wearing a hat.

EDIT: Just found the second one. Also a hat. They are shroomhead & shroomhead2 respectively.

 

so thats the 2nd non-playable race found... hmm, I wonder if theres any others.

Whats the other race if I may ask? A friend was playing yesterday and found a weird egipcian-like frog merchant in a temple near some planet's core, like buried in the middle of nowhere, he sold bombs and lanterns :v

 

Oh crap, it's the children of the Mi-go, fungal spawn of Yuggoth! Run away!

 

And maybe those tentacle planets are breeding grounds for Cthulhu... or other great old ones

I've found frog merchants deep below the surface (mini biome called old tombs, I believe) that were indestructible and sold flares/bombs/etc. Even if you destroy all the blocks around them they can't me moved or killed.

 

It was the frog merchant.
But my friend found a new weirdass race that was in a cultist minibiome? I dunno I haven't seen for myself.

 

They are non playable.
