So... Techs that you would like to see...

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but since it was brought up in today's news i wanted to ask everyone!
How do you like the Techs presented so far?
Are there any Techs that you would like to see?
Are there things that the Devs haven't touched on that you are still excited about?!

I know i haven't seen any vehicles/mechs that we can ride other then when i first started here, and what i think was some kind of hover bike, but i wasn't sure if it was real or not. Also Mid-air Fart bubble dash!!! *snickering ensues*

 

Well the only tech we've seen so far are the basic example techs the devs have shown us so far, plus the awesome techs molly posted just recently.

But I'd really like a tech that give short-range teleportation. Like a blink teleport.

 

^ I agree with this but I feel like it should have some wind-up time and cooldown.

 

^Sort of like the blink in Dishonored, except instead of using MP it'd have a cooldown.

 

I kind of thought that was what the dash would be for, but maybe different races perform their tech's differently... Maybe glitches could teleport.
Or better yet, maybe explode (no damage) and reconstruct on the other side of the screen or a short distance forward.

 

This would be extremely interesting.

 

Well, the latest two that I have seen - the flower petal float dash and the bubble toot are pretty...dumb, really. I'm hoping for more that aren't silly, such as how the dash and double jump were. I'd really like to see some tech that grants you the ability to blink - like a dash, but your body transfers there instead so you can skip past obstacles and enemies minus walls...cause that would be cheap and easily abusable. Edit: SHOOT, Quantum already said that. Obviously I didn't read the comments till now haha.

 

What about a tech that slows down food consumption?
Or if we are talking about move-type techs we already have Doublejump, Dash, Gliding (via armor), now this Mid-air Dash... How about a tech that calls down a plasma strike from your ship. Something on a massive cooldown but does helpful damage to enemies but needs to recharge for 30 minutes to an hour.

 

something that works like the clokeing divice from knytt storys​

if you havnt played knytt storys, basicly what it does is it turns you invisable and makes a halogram of you that the monsters will attack

in starbound it would drain your energy to make it blanced

Anyway, cloaking would be brilliant!

 

Edit: this post is concerning the plasma strike idea...
I think that would be cool and I would totes use it, but abuseable nonetheless. Imagine using the ability, then unequipping and replacing it with something else for the 30 minutes that it is out. Or finding/making several copies of it, and switching them out one after another to use the ability many times.

Kinda sorry for bashing on your idea so bad, but... um... constructive criticism?

 

A modified double jump tech.
Instead of a second jump upwards, it would jump to the direction you are facing, similar to a dash.
it would combine with melee effects to do special attacks

 

A camo/cloaking tech would be pretty cool. Something that made your character blend into the environment somehow to prevent detection.

NO!! Your justified, thats why we debate and discuss. To make it so that it can not be abused it would use up one of your slots and LOCK the slot until it becomes available again. We only get 4 slots if i am correct? So that used slot would end up costing if it were locked out for the long duration, while everyone else has mobility you may be stuck without a choice. Also, the multi-equip is easily stopped. You probably cant stack double jumps to get triple and such, so taking multiples may be useless, or impossible. "Error: you already equipped that Tech"
