So many races, so little time!!

Hi I'm like, 2 days away from buying starbound and I'm like so conflicted on which one to choose, so please vote on which
I chose I wanted to be a: Hylotl, Floran or Avian, I oh so love them all but I can't choose for myself xD

 

I voted for Floran. I don't like how they talk with all the Ss and all that but their lore is cool, and that's what matters to me. I like that they're barbarian plants. Plus they made the hylotl their bitch. Avians and their religion doesn't appeal to me, but at the same time, the main character Avian is trying to debunk their religion so that's kind of cool.

You can't really go wrong. Just go with who you think looks the coolest, or who has the coolest lore. They can wear each others' racial armor so that doesn't really matter.

 

You know you want to be a Hylotl.

When I was trying to choose I was down to human/hylotl/floran. I ended up picking Floran but I have a soft spot for the Hylotl as well. The three eyes are what get me.

 

Whatever you pick will be wiped away soon enough, so - all of them.

 

Floran is master race.

 

Definitely go Hylotl, while they're all cool, both floran and avian armor is very disappointing look-wise and you'll get the fun of how they talk and their lore by finding one of their villages with the other two races while hylotls you only get to see and get the armor of if you are one.

 

Where'd you hear you can only get Hylotl armor as a Hylotl?

 

You can get the other armors, you know.

 

Not at the moment you can't. Hylotl Villages and presumably Dungeons spawn in Ocean World Biomes.

Ocean World Biomes don't exist in game atm.

 

The only way to get other races armor is in villages and structures but none for hylotls have been put in yet.

 

If you're gonna make a Female character, go Floran. Because Female Florans are PHAT.

You can't get Hylotl's armor without trading with another player or account, which can be a bit of a hassle.

 

You can make time to play each of those as there are a bunch of character slots, make one of each and play whichever one you feel like being at the time. I've made on of every race.

 

Can't you just have a hylotl friend make it?

Also their females have the potential to look pretty good (there's also the fact that there is a very distinct difference between the genders as opposed to florans).

 

Well, as it currently stands, there's absolutely no difference between the species besides aesthetics so...

 

Not you play singleplayer or they don't have it yet for themselves.
