So is Greenfinger a Floran or a Hylotl?

I love how they integrated books. They added in so much detail that we can have intelligent discussion over what all is written.

 

What if... The (Floran) Player is actually Greenfinger themself?

But the idea here is that every player has his own reasons for starting his journey. Some people play their character as a pacifist, others will kill any NPC they come across. Some Floran fall into the former category, Greenfinger is one of them.

 

Greenfinger is not the student of that Glitch professor. Seems more like a member of the race that uplifted the florans into a sentient space-faring race.

Pretty sure Greenfinger is the leader of the Florans, and a Floran himself, albeit an incredibly smart one. It's implied in a lot of codexes that he's the one running most of the intergalactic show.

 

Greenfinger is the most intelligent floran that we know of at the time. There's a journal of a glitch named "Professor Irondome" who I believe taught Greenfinger to be literate and civilized.

 

That's Florstab, not Greenfinger, as has been stated many times.

 

I think that florans are carnivores so they might be plants and worship mother but hylotils are peaceful and are herbivores so i say hylotils.

 

Florans aren't cannibals they are carnivores, does nobody know the difference between the two? jeez

 

U are right in starbound every one is bias. Not to get off topic but People who play as Avains are the biggest biases in all of starbound. So yes people will say florans are cannibals and stuff but obviously don't play florans . When i first picked up starbound i was a floran. So i agree with you and and i dont agree with u.

One of the Floran armors is called Cannibal Armor. I was playing as a Floran against some Floran bandits, and one of them claimed to have located "Sssssssupper!" upon seeing me. Lastly, a Floran guard said they would have to eat me (I was a Floran) if I didn't behave.

They are, in fact, cannibals as well as carnivores.

No, this was wrong, but yes greenfinger is a Floran, if you read like 3 posts down you would have seen that.

As for the florans being cannibals, it would seem that there are some that are cannibalistic and others that are not. From the item description of the armor in-game itself:
"Disgraced floran are thrown unarmored into an arena with a hungry floran cannibal."

 

I assume Greenfinger is part of the same precursor species that built the Glitch. None of his writings describe him as a Floran, and he always refers to the species as "them". Most notably, Greenfinger is a he, but florans have no sex or gender.

Now, who or what this species is, I don't know. But they're sure to be relevant to the overarching plot of the game.

You mentioned some books with Greenfinger telling of his time in the Greenguard. Could you quote them? I haven't seen any; only the ones with some unnamed Floran who succumbs to the madness.
