So I finally broke down and got Minecraft...

Uhm.. how is this relevent to starbound again?

 

I think we should just drop it, but there will always be people who wish to rage about all sorts of things over the internet. The best thing to do is to do something else, to pass the time.

 

To be honest I fine minecraft incredibly boring, even with mods.

I try and get into it and search for mods to make it more interesting, but everytime I start a world I feel like I'm doing the same thing over and over again. Wood, house, find cave/dungeon, go to nether, get materials for End.

 

Minecraft is the Arma II of sandbox games. It'll only ever sell because of mods, and those mods still don't necessarily make it good.

 

And, its huge modder community will make it so EVERYONE knows the game. So when its on Xbox, people play it, they realize its ucks adn stop playing it. 5 million copies on Xbox simply because people know about the game simply because its Modder community is larger than Gaia... and eveyrone knwos Gaia.

 

I'm guessing a few of the people who say "This Minecraft games sucks,all you do is build a wood hut and die" probably haven't played the game for more than 5 minutes. I was one of the first 200,000 people to buy Minecraft, in 2010,and am STILL an avid player of it. I've played pretty much all sides of the game you can: survival,creative,modded,huge modpacks,and a couple other versions,and haven't gotten bored yet.The community is great,and the creations some people make are just breathtaking.Until you've seen all of it,don't judge a game.

 

I hardly think that's the case. I'm sure it would have been pretty big news if Mojang had 5 million disatisfied customers wanting their money back.

 

Very true minecraft got boring! but i have to disagree that minecraft is a clone of terraria its the other way round because minecraft come out well before terraria also there two different games entirely

 

To those who don't understand the connection to Starbound with this, I apologize. There may not be one other than the fact that Starbound's potential goes beyond everything else out there and I simply wanted to express how nothing else (Minecraft in this instance) can satiate my excitement about what it will bring us gamers. I thought maybe to get a laugh or two and the thread would disappear. Thank you all for your feedback regarding Minecraft (I'm still playing around with it) and again, I apologize if placement of this post was somewhat askew.

With that, we can go ahead and let this fade into the cosmic background...

 

Don't rip on minecraft on the Starbound forums, that's just not very classy.

And yes, both my wife and I found MC to be great fun, having played since the early beta stages. We also played Terraria as soon as it launched, and enjoyed that. I'm certain without a doubt that Starbound will be another game we play at launch untill the wee hours of the morning, daughter permitting.
