So, I dropped a $1000, and here's my concept:

As long as this really isn't supposed to be a blatant MLP or TF2 reference it's fine with me.

Oh whoa, you've added more information in the initial post about your idea/concept.

    Reeaally loving it now.

Well if you are open to doing some "prototype" art (because I am a VERY amateur pixel artist, and that's even an over-exaggeration), try making a basic aura for each hand, one dark, the other light. Then, some kind of swirling combination of the energies which then emits the rainbow blast.

Edit: No pressure by the way, obviously if you don't have the time and/or attention, than that's perfectly fine. ;)

  8. Alright, I might get to that tomorrow. [IMG]

Thank you so much for contributing to this. I'm definitely linking your art up top, if I may be so bold.

I was going to say suggesting a rainbow laser gun is a waste of the 1K you spent, but then I read something along the way that made me change my mind.

Make it a rainbow bomb launcher! It shoots black and evil spheric thingies (or shiny and glowy white spheric thingies!) that upon contact explode in a rainbowish colour pattern! Kind of like what would happen if you could combine a Rock spell and a made-up Rainbow Laser spell in Magicka.

Way more original than a laser gun, and it could have a lot more uses being a projectile with trajectory!

But then again, it's your money, so you're free to do whatever you want. Just remember that the devs are also free to accept the suggestions or not. Maybe if you make it more appealing like that i'm sure it'd be instantly accepted! :)

If the initial "Beam-type weapon" is a no go, the runner up would be a fully automatic "Rain of beautiful rainbow terror" concept, that ideally would bore through terrain. The requirement is that the weapon fire has to be something very imposing and intimidating, but at the same time goofy and comical so that the person on the receiving ends response would be along the lines of "Hah I got thi.. oh s**t, what THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU... LMAO OMG WTF was that...." Thank you though, for a very interesting suggestion, and under different circumstances, would have been under serious consideration by myself.

What if it was like a pair of gloves that allowed you to do something like this? Except it would be a super awesome rainbow beam/lazorrr.

You may have to find a new source for that image. All I'm getting is where its hosted from.

That would be awesome, and we've actually been considering that. Your image gets the point across pretty well too.

  16. Hey Cassavyr and Icrok, do you want the rainbow beam to be more saturated? (more like this)

The saturated look works better. Solid colors, without shade, are what we are aiming for. They shouldn't be too faded or too dark. (Of course, since you're asking both Icrok and myself, I should inform you we've been known to disagree ;))

I think it would be cool to have a lever-action sort of rainbow shotgun that uses a prism to turn light in to 6 rainbow beams that represent the 6 colours (sorry for non-American spelling) of the rainbow in a spread. Just my opinion. :)
