There's an Avian codex that explains penguins. They were related to Avians, the first flightless, the "children of Kluex", and they all decided to be space-pirates.

The only race that can match the human's strength is the Apex. The Hylotl are to peaceful, the Florans are to primitive, the Glitch are to... medieval and divided right down the middle, the Avians are either running around on an air ship, worshippng Kluex, or focusing entirely on not worshipping Kluex. The Apex, while somewhat divided, are no where near as divided as the Glitch, and hold very strong and advanced technology under a mysterious figure head known as "Big Ape".

And at the same time, it'd be pretty easy for the humans to rally up the forces of the other races to go against Big Ape.

Mostly as a reaction to getting repeatedly told that playing as a human is "boring" and that I should play as the more "interesting" races.

No thanks, I'd rather not play as fish people who have mamillan glands on their chest.

Humans are kinda screwed, if you read some of the codex's you'll see how the U.S.C.M is only just holding together. Yes the Hylotl are peacefull but are capable of defending themselves. The Florans are primitive culturally and dumb in some ways but they are terrifyingly intelligent in other ways like reverse engineering and are crazy about war. I agree with you about the Glitch and Avians although they are capable of defending themselves but if they went against the humans then the humans would probably lose, that assuming humans could rally together enough to go to war. The Apex would smash humanity.

Ok? My point still stands. I went on a similar rant in another thread: I know they have to distinguish male and female somehow, but I just think it's really weird for the hyotl, glitch and avians to have breasts. It makes sense for humans and apex because they're, well, mammals. And I have no bloody idea what the floran have.

Well i think I'm getting off topic in my own bloody thread so thats that.

So on-topic: I do recall hearing somewhere that each race would have a sort of personal quest line, so I'm really hoping humans is retaking the earth. At the very least, visiting the solar system would be cool like Europa or Mars.

 

Ermagurd I could explain how much the lore differs but it would be exhausting.

 

I didn't know that, it sounds really good thought. I would love to try and retake the Hylotl home world back from the Florans.

 

These race-bound story lines would be nice. They would be problematic for the modded races but anyway:


- Humans goal is to retrieve Earth (Or Holy Terra for the Warhammer 40k fans), started by finding settlements and gathering troops for the attack on the Earth (Terra).

- Glitches... Well, the main character is actually just trying to survive, so I don't really know what kind of quest is our space knight on.. Maybe he/she should fight an evil Glitch overlord of his(her planet?

- Florans: Stab and eat everything. Maybe their main quest would be to take over some kind of evil space empire. Even more evil than Florans are themselves.

- Hylotl: Retake their homeworld from Florans, from what I've read. They should abandon their peaceful life for a while.

- Avians seek for enlightenment and their lost wings. OR the main character should destroy these.. Who are they, these guys who worship Kluex? Anyway, when he/she is done with that he/she would convince all the Avians to accept their situation as mortals.

- Apex main character is a rebel, so s/he's main goal would be to destroy Miniknog and free the Apex from dictatorship.

 

For the Glitch, find out who the Creator is? And the Florans should have something to do with the Agarans and the Oaken Soldiers.
