delete the world files (so ore and everything is fixed) but not delete my character and keep all my stuff?

Can I just put everything on my ship and delete the world files?

Sounds like it will work considering, when you exit the game, your character always returns to his ship.

I would test it for you but I literally just got done clearing both my character and planets.

    So it'll work? anyone confirm?

It will likely not change worlds you've already explored, but will change every one that you haven't.

There doesn't seem to be any reason this would not work. Universe and player files are unrelated.

Alright since no one is going to formally test it, then I shall and will be back within minutes to post whether my game crashes or not.

Edit: Alright so here are my findings regarding the matter.

    1. The game does not crash at all.
    2. Apparently your quest progress is stored in your universe folder so you will be starting over in your quest log.
    3. You will be starting over on an entirely new planet. I wasn't sure at first so I had to do this test 3 times because I wasn't paying attention to the planet name at first.
    4. You keep all items your player had, however I do not know if you keep your sector map upgrades or things of that nature.

If you delete the planet files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\universe then it will respawn that planet when you land on it, based on the current patch seed, or at least, it should. The non-coordinate files in there (Named after your characters UUID, Unique User Identification Designation) store your quest status.

So does that mean the non coordinate files will let you land on the same planet. Because when I was mass deleting and starting the character back up, it kept plopping me down on a new planet.

Only delete .planet files and you shoul dbe on the same planet. With quests complete.

    Edit: .world sorry.

If you go to another universe then yeah, you need to reaquire the navigation upgrades. I had a character that I played on a friend's server and got to Sector X with but when I played him in single player I had to rekill all the bosses and get the navs. All of your tech upgrades stay, though.
