So about that gravity

It seems like a decent number of people aren't understanding how the recent gravity change works, so I'd like to give a quick synopsis of it:

    The main factor is size.
You heard it, guys. Size matters.

Larger planets/moons: Stronger gravity (Closer to "normal")
    Smaller planets/moons: Weaker gravity

(Moons above being in the their literal form; stuff orbiting around a larger object)
(Planet density doesn't come in to play yet, I don't think.)

So there you go. Gravity 101 with Zechling. That's why you're getting seemingly "normal" gravity on your stereotypical moons, and surprisingly lower gravity on some tiny normal planets.

EDIT: I should also say... That's how it's supposed to be. (Insert some generic "the games in beta" line)

Figured it was about size, but I was actually surprised when a huge planet seemed to have a lower gravity than a much smaller one in the same system. Maybe density is already in? Or it could just have been a bug or misremembered experience on my part.

There still aren't any planets with high gravity, which annoys me. Very large planets should make it difficult to jump. The first planet you land on shouldn't be a high gravity planet though.

Also, magma/volcanic and large planets should have more diamonds due to more heat and pressure respectively.

My only complaint about the new gravity effects is how dungeons on a particular world seem to utilize different gravity than the world in general. I've experienced both low gravity worlds with a dungeon that had normal gravity, and regular gravity world with a dungeon with low gravity. either way it's very immersion breaking to have gravity affects changing spontaneously on the same world . I thought maybe this was done on purpose so that certain dungeons would have a certain difficulty especially when they require a lot of jumping to get past obstacles but it just doesn't make sense for the gravity to change spontaneously.

    Caladvor Yeah, You!

I think they kept Dungeons at a set gravity to balance them because of the amount of platforming that could be made easier/harder with variable gravity settings.
IMO, if its even possible, make the dungeons fitting to the gravity....so low gravity planets have higher jumps, just increase the distance that you need to jump and lower with higer gravity planets.

Pretty sure the plan is that dungeons are supposed to have a generator or some such device inside of them that will

A ) Control the atmosphere of the dungeon until it's broken
B ) Make the dungeon bricks impervious to destruction (and placing blocks inside?) until it's broken

They just haven't gotten around to implementing it yet. A lot of stuff right now are just in just to be in. Like from the beginning it was said that eventually bosses would have entire dungeons molded around them, so them being broken right now, that you can spawn them anywhere, isn't such a big problem.

I realize that everything is still a WIP but regarding varying gravity in the dungeons, it should just be a matter of luck wether the gravity of the world increases or decreases the challenge of the dungeon. Lots of platform jumping and a low gravity world? Lucky you! It might be easier to traverse the dungeon. Uh oh! It's a high gravity world so you can't even jump high enough to reach those platforms unless you have a proper tech or device to assist.
I would much rather have this than the whole "the dungeon was designed with a particular gravity in mind so it magically alters gravity whilst you're inside" approach.
