Outdated SmartPet - Realistic Overhaul of the Pet System 1.9.6 | Enraged Koala

Hey I'm not sure if maybe starbound has been updated, and the tech discs are no longer compatible, because I can't even drop the disc at all. There's no way to give the tech to my pet. I'm almost positive this is not because of other mods I have on, because I'm not using anything that would fundamentally change the tech mechanics. It seems like maybe the tech discs you put in are no longer compatible with the game. Pretty disappointing, so let me know if you end up updating it! I will forget to check back here, so if you have time and you do update it, email me at shhughes @ ucsc.edu so I can go ahead and reinstall it! Thanks

 

Can this mod be used for version 9.8?

 

Is there any way to get this system to work for NPC's from races listed under "humanoid", without having to create specific "monster" versions of them...? I really wanted a sentient companion to run around ad explore planets with, since all my real friends are so turned off Starbound until it updates! :[

 

thats extremely difficult, considering that its coded for monsters and not npc (im a modder, trust me its hard)

 

I know how hard it would be (I'm a modder, too), since this mod simply expands on a system that was already hard-coded into the game. I was just hoping someone knew some trick/shortcut that I didn't! n.nU

 

Does the mod allow you to tame birds?

Long time no updates!
I might actually start updating this, since the new stable release is out and all
It will take some time, because I need to catch up with the new Lua API stuff, but it will definitely be done!

Please please please do! Some of the new monsters look pretty cool with the new way the game handles creature generation, but nothing is worth catching with the current shitty pet system.

Also if I could make a request, I use My Starbound Crew as well and there's an issue that I've noticed with Ubeat Giraffe (don't recall if it was in Enraged Koala) where tamed monsters will attack NPCs, hoping there is some way you might be able to fix this when/if you do update this. It basically caused a monster I intended to have as a pet on my ship to go wild and murder my entire crew.

 

I think this is a pretty awesome mod, but will there be a version for upbeat giraffe soon

 

That'd be great! This is one of my favorite mods and I'd be overjoyed to see it develop further. Also, do you think that you would ever implement a temporary evolution system of sorts?

 

I haven't used this mod before, but it sounds awesome! An update to Upbeat Giraffe would be greatly appreciated.
