Smarter pet AI! Pet abilities! Teleport stuck pets! Force pets back to pods! Fainting pets! HP bars!

    apply status effects to your pet. apply a stimpack to make them run faster or jump higher and maybe even glow with the stimpack.

    crazy but, maybe... just maybe... somehow, be able for pets to get guns or other things... melee is weak, ranged is better
    also, houses for pets, where they will not teleport back, and slowly heal!
    and throwable grenades that heal pets
    a storage specially for capture pods and that, 256 slots maybe?
    and... hmmm? special food with effect! such as speed!
    (forgot to say, mod now works, fixed!)
    omg, so many ideas...!
    mini ufos for pets!
    maybe some armor for pets?
    more combat mechanics
    buff to AI (still needs a little more!)
    a way to know what pet is which (cuz throwing and throwing is annoying, and if its not right... more annoying)

    Suggestion for ItLovesItReturns.
    - First is... I'm not sure if it's because flying creatures caught by GOTTA CATCH EM ALL mod just don't do that... but after the player's death, the pet is lost and wanders the area around where the player died, so I was thinking; is there a way to make pets notice it's owner from super long distance and teleport back to them instantly instead of having to go find them? Or as DragonZombie suggested, a home which pet will return to if it looses it's owner in a battle and wait.
    - naming pets and having their name show up overhead like players
    - if naming pets is possible, make the pods that contains them have that name on them
    - making the rehealer/capturer/obtainer into form of pistol with unique ammo (Just because I am bad at hitting things with zappers)

    And perhaps, instead of obtainer, clicking e on your pets to see their own little inventory

    Well, this is pretty much all I have in mind right now. Hope they make it to actual features!

    P.S - Yays for not having to dive into lavas for fainted pod!

    That's a lot of suggestions! Thank you all!

    Revamping pet attack AI to make it use multiple attacks is going to take a while, however changing the existing attack into another would be hell a lot easier and it's a good idea.

    In form of buff grenades, good idea.

    Mounting guns on pets is too crazy, even for me lol.
    I like the pet housing idea a lot.
    Buff and healing grenades are going on the to-do list completly.
    Capture pod storage device? Only after I find a way to customize the pods (display pet properties, etc.). Also it could be only this or the houses, not both.
    Food... with the grenades they would be obsolete, so no.
    Mini UFO pets? GOTTA CATCH EM ALL does that already and I don't like copying ideas.
    Pet armor is possible, but you would need to make A LOT of art for that.
    Improving combat AI is on my to-do list already, but no ETA on it.
    Naming pets (even by a random generator) and displaying the names is certainly a great idea!

    Hmm... this changes my view on the purpose of pet houses. But, I don't know if moving pets to houses after leaving the planet is possible (technical reasons, the planets are unloaded from memory the moment no players are on them).
    Naming pets, yes.
    So basically, making the 'zapper' projectile travel? It could but I can't imagine it being useful, as it was made specifically for close distances (pets keep close to owners, right?).
    Making monsters react to NPC-like interaction is impossible, sadly.
    And, I agree that pods falling into lava were an annoying thing ;)

    This is an amazing mod, 10/10 thank you so much for putting the effort and time into it! The only thing I would recommend (if possible) is making the pet inventory intractable (like a chest), but I understand that there must be difficulties involved in doing that. Either way: great job!

    I am not able to get my pet to pick up or use discs at all.

    Have tried interacting with my pets, and the discs, dropping them on the pet, and dropping them then running past them for the pet to grab.

    Edit: They wouldnt pick up the discs if I was on my ship. They do on a planet or moon's surface

    Did you craft the raygun that forces your pet to drop any items they hold and use it on them? They might have their own personal inventories filled with other things they may have picked up

    The Revival Station doesn't pick up pods dropped in front of it?

    Thanks for the report. I will look into it. Seems weird though, as there shouldn't be any restrictions.

    Your suggestion is outdated, as the 'fainted' pods are instantly picked up already if you're on the same planet as your pet.

    Well, the readme doesn't include it, but it is said in the mod description on this site:

    Creature Revival Station! Drop a pod in front of it to bring your pet back to full health.
    Code:
    Drop a disc near the pet, it will be picked up by the pet.

    For a complex mod like this, it would be nice to have a readme. People don't want to have refer back to the website after launching the game. Some web-browsers make the existing FPS issues worse. =P

    Hey there. I just downloaded your Furious Koala version and tried to install it/run it - While running it on a server, the server crashes as soon as it tries to load the mod - While running it on Single-Player the game stucks during the "loading..." screen.

    At first I thought this might happen, because of mod incompatibilities with other mods - I tried a bit around and the last option I tried, was to use only SmartPet and it still occurs. I will try to give you some Information about what the errore says exactly

    Slight issue... game gets stuck on loading screen with the latest version... is this mod know to be incompatible with any mods?

    Edit: guess I ain't the only one having the issue.
