You're doing God's work, many a time I've lost a valuable/rare mob I've had due to it getting stuck in the terrain.

 

I know that feel, I was waiting for Angry Koala update just to make this mod.

I now need to decide whenever I should make pet-back-to-pod utility an item or a tech:

TECH:
+ useable even when hands are full
- the need to switch techs if you have more

ITEM:
+ doesn't use a tech slot
- uses inventory slot (I tend to have it full)
- the need to switch items

Item please, I use all 4 techs and I can't be bothered to go to my ship to get my miniboss back.
I'll need to check this mod for compatibility with mine eventually now I've added /mod/ support.
Looks like the update broke all allready stored mobs with my mod

And this apparently did make it into the last hotfix, so glad to see pets now teleport to their owner in vanilla. Thanks a lot for this!

Will this work with Gotta catch em all mod?

 

From looking at the files, it appears it would only work with ground mobs, not flying.
This is only a guess though.

 

Recapturing pets (forcing pets to pods) will work with that mod.
Pet inventory won't work with flying monsters though (they don't fly near drops anyway).

You should make this mod so you don't have to require picking up the pod after your pets death.
that would make this mod perfect.

 

That certainly would be possible, but wouldn't it feel like a cheat though?
I mean, you've got an invincible pet already after all!
