Just as a note, there do exist mods out there that alter the traveling cart appearance. Most of them use the travelingMerchantDay field in the GameLocations/Forest location, so if you check that, you can enhance compatibility with mods.
I've noticed that when I open the game, the first day shows up the notifications just fine but on the other days it won't show most of the stuff. It alerts for the production of the stuff but like, it won't notify the birthdays, if it is a lucky day, queen of sauce episodes and travelling merchant.
I'm having the same problem as kaneroo. I did recently start a new file, and it worked for the first few days. But now it doesn't give me the notifications at the beginning of the day. I do get the reminder at 5pm if it's someone's birthday though. Appreciate all your hard work!
There's an updated patch out on the SMAPI 2.0 mod compatibly thread now (I made it). I also submitted it as a pull request.
Updated patch for: - Uses the translations interface - When in the farmcave, won't pop a harvest notification when a chest is in there. If you've grabbed the version from the translation request thread, this has the second one, and also a fix for festival notification being prone to not working.
