I don't really know where else to post this, so in the General file it goes.

I'm currently playing nightly with a laptop. My game lags from time to time, but it's not game breaking. I haven't played nightly in a few days, but I don't remember the loading/warping time being this bad. Just now I was jumping from a lush planet to a moon and it took an entire 11 minute video and probably about five more minutes before it finally actually finished jumping. I have no idea if the developers are going to be working on that, but I'd really like to see that optimized.

Optimization is a late-development deal. Like, very late. They can do bits and pieces of it here and there but not really anything major. It's like setting a table... you need to know what's being served, how many people are coming, etc.

As such, as major new chunks of game happen, there's gonna be hiccups. Just gonna have to swallow it for a while.

The loading I can wait for. That's what SportsCenter is for. But I could go for knowing how in the world to use the modules thingies to upgrade your armor and weapons.

It is a known issue with apparently slow loading times on windows, but those times are especially apparent on slower computers. That said, even with a decent computer, loading times for anything should rarely exceed a minute or two. An SSD brings load times to seconds.

The stable is pretty slow to load as well and I'm on a pretty good Linux PC. The other day I watched the process for the game load in my process manager and was a little surprised that it wanted to stash 1.2GB in RAM. So I booted up Terraria, which at least loads the starting screen in a flash, but watched that load 1.8GB into memory upon loading a world. I haven't tested Minecraft...

Last patch was unplayable because the game would just hang every couple of minutes, so it's gotten a little better. Before that it was hard to get past the launcher.

I'm on a 2008 mac and it loads the game fairly decently, the first time I started the game it did take about 3 minutes, but ever since that first initial load, it only takes about 15-20 seconds tops.

For me, initial loads tend to hang a bit, but it proceeds pretty quickly once the character is loaded up. Then again, I've explored a LOT.

The game does slow down at more populated areas like the Outpost, but not painfully so. I do get slowdown at points in my home build, but then again, my home builds are pretty damn huge with a ton of furniture and paint slapped everywhere. Eventually, if I play for a couple hours, it will start to choke badly upon travel to the homeworld or ship (similarly heavily altered), but I find an Escape to the title screen, letting it sit like a minute, then reloading takes care of that.

Zoom level also plays into it. 2x zoom can get stuttery, but I typically play at 3x unless I'm exploring underground or taking a screenshot map of the build.
