I have Updated the OP - SL MOBA Team Info with what info is currently available... finally. Also, requesting Feedback on if "SL MOBA Team" works as a way to refer to our new Semi-Legal MOBA Team. For those of ya in the Semi-Legal MOBA Team, Gentle & I are playing Strife as a way to practice our general MOBA Skills... though it's also doin a good job of being fun too! Consider joining in to do the same! I'm Maining Hale & Gentle is exploring Tinder & Caprice, but i'm not yet clear if Tinder is outright his Main or not yet. Any of ya that join in, I strongly recommend playing through the Tutorial then doing Practice Matches vs Bots & such & other like that. Last game Player vs Bots Gentle & I played this morning, we had a couple allied players playing so derpy we couldn't help but to wonder if they were both new to MOBAs & had skipped the Tutorial & we practically carried the whole game & still barely won DESPITE them... I bet ya'all can do WAY better then that after playing the Tutorial & being more prudent then those other Players. Don't be afraid to ask Gentle for advice as well if need be. We're both still learning but now have Strife Basics down, including more hang of the Game Interface.
If you guys are actually serious about Strife I'll join you. I recently got into League (again) but I can strife on the side. I'm not one to completely invest in one thing anyways.
I bet I could still mess things up even after playing through the tutorial. A long, long time ago when I tried League for the first time, I went through the tutorial and then was placed in a practice bot game. I totally lost :'D But yeah, I'll see about Strife. Assuming my laptop will be okay with it. My laptop likes to complain about a lot of games.
Do I seriously have to download 1.7gb from a browser? That's kinda stupid. I'll go search for a P2P download or something.
Sadly, it seems to be that way, Immortal. I'd be happy to have all of you guys around! The bots are actually pretty hard in this game. In the last bot game I and Axe played, they used to have our level or higher pretty much ALL the time. We won because of a suicidal base rush! I am definitely maining Lady Tinder atm, however I'm looking into the other heroes too. Caprice is a thing on the side, as Lady Tinder is a little too focused on single target damage and we keep having problems with enemy ranged heroes...
Gentle & I have been Strifing many of my Mornings lately. Though, I can't ever perform at full power while doin this cause i'm not fully awake during the time, but I do what I can. Edit: Oh, I just remembered, I can Refer ya'all to Strife. If ya wanna join in without using this, no sweat: https://strife.com/create?raf=W4AHBUMB
I had no idea the demo was released, so your post made me drop everything I was doing and play for like two hours. I noticed that Pikachu's lightning bolt no longer launches enemies when you hit them while they're high in the sky. I guess it's for the best, but damn was that fun in Brawl. Link and Villager were really fun though. Hitting someone with a falling tree is almost as satisfying as a Falcon Punch. Also I didn't think I would like the graphics, but they were much prettier than I expected. I am so looking forward to playing the full game. I may even have to buy a Wii U.
I believe pikachu is better than he was before actually. His up b has almost no recovery frames this time, less than his landing animation, making it an excellent mid-range poke. It can be used to reliably dash about the stage as well or setup combos. His down b's start up and recovery animation is nearly twice faster this time around, which means that it can be used to combo this time, rather than just stall. Megaman feels disappointing for me too. Hes just lacking. Although we may yet be proven wrong, since he has rush-cancel, which allows him to escape from any combo without long stun frames by pressing up-b. Edit: Just found out that the cloud that pikachu uses to call down thunder has a sweetspot that sends people flying downwards with immense speed.
Pikachu? Slow? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS? And the Thunder no longer throws people? But then what would you use it for?
After playing the demo, I can say Pikachu really feels different this time around. Unlike the other characters, I have the most trouble KOing with him. I might just need to readjust/practice more with him to get a better sense of what to do. As for everyone else, Mega Man's really fun to play as (I just need to stop pressing A in close quarters thinking he'll punch >w>; ). Mario feels amazing, Link's KOs feel more satisfying, and the Villager's pockets are fun to abuse. He's great at blocking people who've been sent flying off the stage, and his recovery's perfect.
As someone who uses Pikachu as their main character in Brawl, I came to a very similar conclusion as you did Gravik - that Pikachu feels better this time around. Mind you, I don't have nearly the same understanding of the game as you do, but I noticed he wasn't nearly as floaty this time. That may have just as much to do with the game's pacing change as it does character tweaks though. The only issue I'm having is with the Circle Pad. I find myself gravitating to the D-Pad whenever it's an option on my 3DS, because I really value precision. The demo doesn't let me adjust controls, and I'm really worried that I won't be able to in the 3DS version... The other big issue is not having a C-Stick. Pikachu has an awesome down smash that I would use in Brawl to quickly rack up some damage here and there, and I still can't seem to pull it off on the 3DS. Even when I do, I'll never be able to use it as quickly or seamlessly as I do on console, which is a damn shame... Also, am I the only one who wishes the Wii Fit Trainer was in the demo? I think that character looks so damn ridiculous to use... so it's perfect for me.
I don't see why it won't be in the full release. after all, every other release of smash bros so far has had the option of control customiseation. I just suppose we'll see.
Am I the only one who finds pikachu the easiest character? Rack up damage, throw them off stage, spam thunder(with good timing of course), boom they're dead. At least that's how it works with the ai, haven't been able to put in a serious match against my brother yet.
Speaking of link, the AI just used bombs to recover causing a sudden death. Something I noticed about pikachu, he doesn't have any really reliable way of quickly murdering people, you have to throw them off and then keep them off, so he gets rekt in sudden death. That or I'm doing it wrong.
The problem with that is how much harder it is to utilize Thunder now. Most of the time in my fights against the AI and some friends, Thunder rarely hits its mark. It also lost out on some knockback power (save for the spike on the thundercloud) and its hitboxes are a lot smaller as well. Also that. The most common way I get KOs with Pikachu whenever I pick him in the demo was using his running side A headbutt, and that itself takes a lot of percentage build up. -w-;
