No, I really don't. Mega Evolutions are based on popularity (not necessarily usage). They've even told us as much. I agree that Banette was a weird example, but then again I just don't like it. Slowbro is already used, sometimes even as an unorthodox counter in OU. There are so many things that are just flat out not used yet. For example, Sunflora, most com-mons, Farfetched, Ledian and on and on and on. Yet, pokemon that already see use above NU keep getting Mega Evolutions.

It's just a massive wasted opportunity to make some stuff more useable imho.

 

With time constraints and all, there's only so much they can do. Also if they just made every weak pokemon have a mega they wouldn't have enough material for new megas in newer games.

 

That's bullocks imho. They don't need to design an entire region this time. And it still doesn't take away the fact that some things REALLY didn't need a mega (Looking at you, Mewtwo!).

I actually like that the went out of their way to give Lopunny and Audino a mega on the basis that they're very rarely used, even if I don't like the pokemon myself. But now we got Mega Salamence and Mega Metagross, More pseudo legendaries that get mega evolutions. More stuff that will be on the very top of OU or more likely even uber. Yaaay.

Uh... I'm not even sure if you read it properly. I want the EXACT OPPOSITE. I want unused stuff to get megas. And if you ask me, Mega Metagross at the very least has a high chance of going uber. I mean, its stats are already good apart from speed, but it gets boosts to EVERY stat, plus a ton more speed. AND Tough claws. It already has 135 attack to abuse with tough claws meteor match/bullet punch. And thats going to get BIGGER. Mega Salamence, maybe, I dunno. But Megagross? High chance, if you ask me.

 

They are making megas of unused stuff AND used stuff. It shouldn't just be one or the other.
