Well if you have a problem dealing with Mega Charizard Y, Talonflame, Togekiss, and maybe some other flying types (e.g. Mega Pinsir), you might as well put ancient power on your Heatran.
That might be an option, hm... but I am not sure what to replace with... Either Earthpower or Flash Cannon.... Taunt is necessary since it stops alot of those annoying leads... Lavaplume for Stab and its decent burn chance and 100 accuracy. Let me check if I got fairy covered... I am really not sure what to replace. Earthpower rips electric apart and punishes switch ins of fighting type. Flash cannon meanwhile rips through fairies... but those are usually scared out when seing a heatran. If not they usually get burned.
Yeah, if you really want to keep Taunt, I guess Flash Cannon is the best thing to replace. Most fairies won't want to deal with Heatran anyway - except maybe Togekiss with Flash Cannon, but now you'll be able to use Ancient Power and hopefully do some damage.
I'll give that a shot then ^^ Edit 1: Yeah works better with Ancient power, feeling alot more confident using heatran now that I know I have something take care of that annoying little bugger called Talonflame Oh and decided to go into fights and instant forfeit so I do not have to... face those sets I hate until I know how to deal with them on a single basis, means less chance to encounter guys using those teams with "Trade 2 for 1" movesets like the one I have on one of my Gengars... or Paraflinch Togekiss... And then as an icing: Talonflame, banded. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-135867228 http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-135855889 http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-135869696 -> Ragequit http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-135871169 -> Thanks to Gardevoir for taking care of the rest after Heatran cleaned the road for her (Taking out Talonflame) Edit 2: Astro Blast, that suggestion for Heatran is probaly one of the best I have heard. It works wonders on those bugging flying types. Weavile takes care of the annoying Togekiss Para Flinch and Heatran is Flak against any Talonflames (and apparently also against Pinsir with its 4 time effectivness of ancient power). Perfect. Fairies get extincted by Gardevoir herself showing who is the only worthy fairy after Dusclops did his part by burning those few physical ones. Literally Pixilate Hypervoice goes through almost anything after a boost or 2... and now Heatran is alot more usefull to take out threats of my mainsweeper.
As a trainer who's Heatran has Ancient Power, I can vouch for this. One time I even got the insane all stat boost by chance. Hilarity ensued.
Havent gotten that boost yet, but its a nice + over Hidden Power Electric which I was initially going to try.
As a Talonflame user, I can confirm that Ancient Power Heatran scares the bird shit out of me. Regardless of whether a Heatran has that though, I know that Heatran can take any hit from Talonflame, so I just switch out. Over time, I'll just wear out that Heatran because all the player will be thinking about is how it is keeping Talonflame away. Sure enough, I'll get rid of it eventually and Talonflame will be back out doing what it does best. Talonflame isn't just dangerous because of what it can do, it's dangerous because of the sheer amount of offensive pressure it brings when it enters the fray. A good Talonflame player is using the latter more than the former in order to create some momentum in a battle. When you switch out in fear of Brave Bird, a Talonflame uses U-Turn and brings in the perfect counter to your switch-in. Keeping that in mind, Stealth Rocks are probably the best way to counter Talonflame. With those up, your opponent will think twice about bringing in the damn bird, which creates an opportunity to take out the rest of the team and corner it. Once it's cornered, it's not so scary.
Stealthrocks actually saved often enough my ass from said bird. But cant hurt to have another flak to shoot said aerial fighter down.
It seems kinda odd to use Heatran for your Taunter... he's kinda slow for the job... & he packs lots of good Special Moves & imho is better off being an attacker. He can throw Rocks too if ya just can't fit rocks onto any other of your pokes & want those rocks bad. I'm getting dragged off to the Old House today, & currently expect to be back this Thursday.
Works pretty well so far, most of the time I use him as antilead the opponent has something much slower and usually Heatrans Taunt is used as a heal blocker to stop people from healing with bulky Pokemon (like Chansey). They dont expect a taunting heatran, loose their heal ability and are either forced to switch out or risk of me switching into something physical like ferrothorn at which point they should switch out or taking a STRONG hit. Ferrothorn does the rockjob already and dunno, kinda like the additional support from heatran, its like a safety net when my dusclops fails on stopping a setup sweeper.
Recently playing alot of gnomoria and figured out that you can name your guys... so anyone wants to be in? You might loose limbs and eyes... they wont regrow.
I dunno, is there like, a swag stat you can check? If not then the game has no immersion 0/10 would not play again. This is why I shouldn't be let on these forums without adequate sleep
Taunting hostiles with a towershield has swag... though they hate yoloswag resulting in attacking the yoloswagger only
