Skull in Weapon Descripton?

    Hey guys! I'm wondering, in one of my items description, it shows a skull, what does it mean? ALSO do you have to be past alpha sector to find tech! Thanks guys! Im crap at Starbound ! :)

    the skull means the weapon has the poison effect and will do damage over time to whatever you attack with it, and nope you can find tech in alpha I found double jump but I think its more common to find in the harder sectors

    Poison effect and some tech can be found in the alpha sector.

    I have found tech in alpha plenty of times, but it has only ever been the dash or the jump. I don't know if that is just my luck or whether tech is tiered and only certain ones can be in certain sectors.
