Skill Investment!

    Sort of like skill trees, but instead of leveling up and investing perks, you get better at things the more you do them.

    EX: The more you mine, the better you will become at mining.
    The more you fight, the more damage your character will be able to dish and take.
    The more you swim, the longer you can hold your breath.
    etc

    Anyone have more ideas?

    Lol okay real talk.

    Its a pretty interesting idea. It could make players characters more unique as long as its not like CRAZY essential to certain gameplays idk

    I think that a good levelling or developping system is absolutely necessary. Skill-trees, perk-system, levellable abilities, you name it, but any of those would simply turn this game into pure awesomeness (especially if the levelling is choice-based, this means, not having ALL of the possible skills/abilities when one character reaches top level, but having to choose and creating the character that fits your style).

    I don't think this will be happening. Devs have already explained that they don't really want RPG elements in the game. "Leveling" will be handled by getting better gear.
