Both provide their own benefits. The first playthrough of mine will probably be singleplayer, so I can really experience the true magic of the game without any pesky humans getting in the way. Afterwards, after I'm finished with the singleplayer, I'd start reaching for more stuff, things you can only do with other people, and that's where the multiplayer comes in. Roleplay and exploration servers ftw!

 

I went single player in Terraria even though sometimes I would multiplayer with one other person. Lets just say that I didn't really care for it because I don't like having to slow down or speed up for other people because I enjoy playing games at my own pace. I also really don't care about PvP, so I'll be trucking it alone in the world of Starbound.

I also experience lag a lot when in the online things and I hate rubberbanding around. All by myself has a less laggy time and happy making things without someone messing around in the background.

 

I do single player unless my friends are on a server then hands down multiplayer.

SP just isn't the same in games like this. It's like, why build anything other than a cardboard box if no one's around to see it?

 

Ill play multiplayer with my friend then they'll ditch the game, go back to FIFA, and ill continue alone

 

Multiplayer for casual fun with my friends.

Single Player for when I want super hardcore goals.

 

A mix of both; mostly single player at first.

 

I usually like to have things specifically the way I want them so usually I play on singleplayer but that's no fun when you're exploring, fighting monsters and seeing things you wished others could see too!

It may be feasible to hide away on your own private planet on a multiplayer server where nobody could find you. You could still play single player on a multi player server!

 

I will be using single player as a mix of screwing around and playing through the game fully as (hopefully) every race with many different situations.
Then I will be using multi-player for the clans I'm in and have fun RPing as whatever character I make myself.

I want to beat the main quest alone or co-op with a friend before I dive into multiplayer servers.
