Who is looking forward to the singleplayer game?

Im not much for multiplayer, especially in a world where other players can grief my stuffs so i'm going to be playin the singleplayer version.

I prefer multi-player over singleplayer, but only local multi-player with a friend who is in the room with me so I can be certain their goals are the same as mine.
PERHAPS, if clans (corporations) get big in Starbound I will play online multiplayer for that reason. Large scale wars would be neat.

I´ll play with friends when they can, and if they can´t, I´ll play singleplayer. Simple as that. :p

Both is the best, you can build your own little world with supplies and still have access to ones with close friends. I plan on running a dedicated box for friends and then having my single player games. Seriously, griefing isn't an issue if you play with good close friends.

I would kill for some large scale PvP, that would be really cool.

I'll be playing multiplayer more than singleplayer. You'll have friends and it's more fun.

What are you going to do on those lonely nights on singleplayer?

Multiplayer is way more interesting. Whats the point to collect all those nice randomly generated guns if you can't show them to anyone or blow up friends with that :D Hopefully there will be a dedicated server for linux this time.

Hmm, i seem to be in the minority here, i kinda expected it but still interesting. For those of you who enjoy the multiplayer, are you looking at mp with a few friends or on a large scale server, and why?

I wish I could find people who would like to play Starbound with me in rl. I do prefer knowing the people I'd be playing with, or else I'll act like an awkward idiot.
The only person I've been able to play multiplayer with is my older computer geek brother, I've tried relentlessly to "recruit" my other siblings but to no avail. My brother is awesome and all, but he cannot play cooperatively. None of my friends are interested in any games in the slightest and the college I'm in isn't a social college.
So, I'll most likely play single player unless I find a good server to play on.

I prefer multi-player by leaps and bounds, but due to the unavailability of broadband internet where I live I will end up in single player mode more often than I would like.

The problem for me is that once I try out multi-player, I never want to go back. It was the same for Minecraft and Terraria and, after I spend some time at the library to play with friends, it will probably be the same way for Starbound.

I do kinda fit into this category, i would probably play mp if i could get a few friends into computer gaming but they are persistently stuck on xbox. I cant get into xbox because im so used to the ease of mouse+keyboard.

Again, both. I would mostly play with a few close friends that would allow us to hone our skills and learn all of the game. Then switch to large scale if there is PvP.

    I'm waiting for those.

With friends first, then I'll check for a good large server.Because is awsome.

I'm lucky enough to have five good friends all also waiting eagerly for the game to launch, but if I didn't, I'd still be hunting down someone competent and fun to do a co-op with. I just could not imagine playing a game like this by myself -- and that, coming from someone that played both borderlands by them self. To me, Terreria's spelunking, boss fights and dungeon elements all felt intended to be done together, preferably with voice chat, and I don't get any different vibe from what we've seen so far. Gosh, how monotonous would digging ore be without someone to spot monsters, dig with, or generally goof off?

That said, I'll of course still be playing single player as well, but only because I'm a hopeless addict.

I'll most likely be playing single player for a bit. I just have more fun when i dont have people pestering me to do something with them. When i get more comfortable with the game then i'll move over to multiplayer.

I'm gonna play alot of single player at first.
Next i'm gonna kill my friends in pvp LAN games:devil:
Eventually i'll play online and see what comes out

I do tend to enjoy multiplayer more in games like this, I find experiences in exploration, discovery and all that are just funner with friends, however I'd only do this on small scale with no more than 3 friends.

I also would like to check out hosted servers that host large groups of people and take on the RP of the corporations section, with a proper galactic economy, trading and politics, but that would be pretty rare seeing as it needs a certain finesse from everyone on the server, which is hard to find in large numbers.

Other than that i'd probably have a singleplayer world universe too, to adventure and make my own :)
