Greetings! Related topics to Agriculture have left me wondering what people would consider an interesting depth for it. For example we could spend hours mass-farming simple produce for the sake of crafting consumables, or we could add tiers and/or custom requirements to the plants we discover, as well as the interaction with creatures. I know typically some people find farming to be a dull process or 'game breaking' if it is use-able to any large afk capability. But I feel with the exploration side of the game its something we really could look into. To no degree am I saying I have the best ideas or use for such things, so perhaps you can help expand on this. Even to a basic degree, having plants provide the basis for new types of resource could really help expand on areas such as decorative crafting, buffs via consumables, taming/breeding animals or simply just something to sell for currency/trade. Again the depth of which this goes to would change it dramatically. Frankly I'm not sure of its limitations or ability to be implemented in the game (I Don't recall seeing any Agriculture featured in screenshots or livestreams) so this may be useless brainstorming, but I am very interested in seeing how others feel this would fit within the game.
Improved medicine. Certain bio-weapons, let`s say, guns shooting needles coated with plant-based poison. Why, this has its potential. Let`s say each planet is generated with a set of parameters regarding soil attributes. The certain zones of the planet are better for certain *groups* of plants, and there shall be a few of them. But then, randomly generated trees do have an impact on soil making sertain *types* of plants grow better. Then, the temperature of atmosphere and the denseness of an aquifer, two virtual parametres which do have an impact aswell. Continue as you like. I`m not even mentioning that certain buildings do increase the profit of farming significantly.
And greenhouses for cold biomes. Although hydroponic seems to be the best way to avoid having to micromanage your plants. Unless you could build automated sprinkler systems...

I was aware of that topic. The purpose of this topic is fresh stimulation of ideas rather than expanding on a direction already favoured. It has a lot of issues regarding direction and depth, mainly why i presented it as a 'What people would consider a interesting depth for it' - In hopes a fresh look would produce some additional ideas.
