Now am i the only one who sees these two as completely similar? There needs to be some sort of difference so someone who at a glance can tell which one is which? I have a bountiful amount of silver but need platinum ore and it annoys me when I again get more silver. They seem far too similar, I suggest making Platinum darker or more Grey to it's original color. Or make it entirely different . Compared to it's real life color counter part silver?
This has been noted before in other posts. There are small differences between the two, but with all the differentiating environments of planets and whatnot it's almost impossible to tell the difference each time. I +1 this. The difference should be more clear. Unless of course this is an intended feature? Devs?
Glad someone agrees there should be more definition on Silver and Platinum. They seem far to similar. But as you said it may be for some Dev feature.
I don't think it is a feature, exactly. They already changed it once to make them look less like each other, I just don't think they did it enough. Perhaps Platinum could have an animated "shimmer" effect to help differentiate it.
I don't know, shouldn't it be Silver that shimmers? Can't say that I know what Platinum ore looks like in real life. But Silver's shiny, right?
To my knowledge both are shiny. I just figured you give the shimmer to the higher tier as that is a common concept in games and would feel the most familiar to players.
Animated ores could harm the efficiency of the game however. But honestly Devs, just change the shades or textures. Should be easy
I do think that there needs to be some sort of shimmer or just make Platinum darker, it's Real life form is much darker almost grey (Unrefined).
Well, considering the lack of Platinum you run across I doubt there would be any noticeable fps drop. But changing the color would work just fine.
Certainly depends on what sector you're in, as Platinum is quite common in the X-Sector. But no, it wouldn't in any way noticeably make your FPS Drop.
