Given the other show and tell threads I figured this one's just a matter of time either way so I might as well start. Maybe also talk about what you like and don't like about the mechs. Outside of the obvious use in space missions I tend to use mine to clear a safe landing zone on dangerous planets and set up a small base of operations before moving on to proper exploration. About the only things I don't like about them is the lack of options for customisation at the higher tiers. Something like tech slots for mechs would be a nice addition to make a mech properly feel like it's yours.
Been tweaking and working on my own personal mech (I really like them, really): Their very limited lifespan on planets and inability to fly out of deep water annoys me a bit. I wish they had some inbuilt flight capability in gravity, that at the very least uses energy. Mechs need cosmetic slots, and yeah I agree they need some sort of chip (like the EPP) or tech slots to really make them more unique. And they can't be summoned barring being deployed from ship! There also needs to be mech enemies and what not. The current in-game mechs feel like space combat pods with legs :d
Well XS Mechs: Modular updated today and also found some new blueprints so I played around with my mech design a bit.
The link's sitting right there in the quote ... http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=945707062 EDIT: Was playing around with Warmachine earlier and figured I'd give the steampunk mech thing a go for my Novakid ... Not exactly what I had in mind but it sort of fits I think.
This is a new mech for my mod https://community.playstarbound.com/resources/barrage-heavy-mech.4751/ currently in development.
