Thanks I intend to make it a little more homey after I break the surface and maybe find some sand to make glass with.
Right, totally forgot my old house. Prior to the big universe wipe in Stable Branch where the Outpost etc. was introduced, I built a cottage and set up rain gutters on a planet where it never rained. Go me. A+ job. The house heat sources are specifically laid out so that a character wearing absolutely nothing doesn't freeze at night as long as the character remains indoors. The turrets killed birds trying to attack through the roof, except the ones on the right side glitched and wouldn't fire. The torches mark spawn because you couldn't spawn indoors in that build. You can't see it, but there was also a reservoir underneath the house to collect the nonexistent rainwater from the gutters; it was accessed via the well to the right, off-camera. Field to the left, for crops. Ladder to the (freezing cold) asteroids accessed via the roof. It should be noted that, at the time, I didn't understand architecture, and this was my first house, so the initial design was actually based on the house from one of the official trailers, and I developed it from there. That's why there's a balcony on the left and those stairs look familiar. Spawn point is under the orange lamp.
If you've been following my posts, you'll have noticed I spend an awful lot of time trying to develop a nice-looking open air above ground automatic irrigation system. If you haven't (and I don't blame you); here is my first one: A failure And I made a second one using water pressure: A failure as well; you can guess how it worked. But I did get a rather nice forest plateau outpost
If this Engine could make Waterfalls like in Terraria, that would be cool! xD Then your Watermill could have even more detailes with flowing water. ^^
Some tips: Change your Starbound control options so that Hide HUD is enabled. Image. Enable PNG screenshots in the Steam Overlay interface. Image. Use Paint.NET instead of Paint because older versions of Paint do not support transparency and multiple layers. Paint.NET. And Imgur hosting would be good too. Imgur. And there you go.
