Building/Ship Show off your house :D

That looks amazing - The lighting really sets it off. Reminds me of something you'd find in a castlevania game.

 

Here's mine. I'll make a better one after the wipe.

 

Well, even though I posted in "What does your ship look like?" thread, I guess I'll repost here, because my ship is my home.



The best part is, it warps through the awesome power of magic! Or possible black holes and gravitational pull. I have no clue, I'm not a wizard or physicist.

I love the medieval look of the glitch structures, so I definitely thought if I was going to be flying around in a flying castle, it should at least look spiffy. Didn't finish decorating because of the incoming wipe, but hopefully, even if characters and items get wiped, we can restore our ships from backup files.

@Gorgasm, WOW!!!! that must have taken you forever! Breaking down the ship took me so long that i just quit and built a home on the ground lol.

Or is that on an asteroid... lol

 

what what....what....you can make your ship still fly around like that?!?! O.O
i am SOOO going to do that then after the wipe :O

 

I took multiple screenshots of the base and paste them together. Then I used a couple of screenshots of the sky and background without any terrain or buildings in the way, mirrored them a few times to expand them out. Finally I used photoshop to remove all the mismatching backgrounds from the screenshots, then placed the new background behind the base. Some final touchups and that image was the result!

With the wipe approaching, I decided to use some of the stuff I had collected to build a prototype house. Ideally, the left side of the house would be about twice as wide and the lower floor divided into two rooms (crafting and kitchen) but I ran out of temple bricks and thatch. Also, need to make the staircase less wonky on the second floor. >.>

I upgraded my place some.

I built a little shack for a villager, to work my farm and make me yummies in the kitchen.



I also built a well... but since I'm in a desert and there's like no water that isn't green and poisonous...I built a secret prison.

 

I was proud of what we did and wanted to show it off in a way that wasn't an unsightly mess of mismatched backgrounds Plus it was the first base we had built in Starbound, seemed like it was worth the effort as a sort of commemoration.

 

Here's the top of my newly built house. Thought to myself why not build it.

Better get this in there before the wipe happens. This is the smallest house I've built so far. I build one house per sector, then tear it down when I move.

 

nothing to see here! no Apexes being dissected here!

 

WIP, but it will be my grand estate once completed.

 

i like this thread ...

i love how every single one of you have a different style on how to do things , and its interesting to see

 

Also,you can draw inspiration from it that will influence your future buils. A neat and tidy storage room for example can inspire others to build in a similar style
But all in all,i do agree with you,that it is interesting to see how others build their houses/bases.

The things I would have liked to add was a control room on top with a glass house for farming. A storage room, medical bay and living quarters
