Building/Ship Show off your house :D

Okay, so in the last month or so my son and i have been playing together on a private server and have been building an ever expanding homebase. I kept waiting for it to be finished before i took screenshots, but i have realised that that may never happen So here it is as a WIP in its current form.

Over on the far left is a Museum that started as a place to show off the butterflies as i caught them, but is also for the displaying of other items now too. It is currently surrounded by a bunch of glass boxes containing biome critters that i intend to use for some sort of critter zoo eventually (still having fun hunting down and catching all of them at the moment).to the right of that is the tower and farmhouse that we started from, (initially we built a house around a little castle ruin that was there already), the farmhouse contains our workshop and crafting stations. Below it is our now very organised basement full of storage lockers for materials, blocks and furniture. Tethered up above is a factory ship that contains our farming operations and over to the right hand side is a tunnel containing a mannequin fashion parade of outfits, and then an aquarium. Furthest over to the right is our library, modeled on the Grand Pagoda Library.

 

We just noticed this and wanted to say, if you look at the top of the tower in the storage building there is a clown fish laying on the ground below the hylotyl book stand.

 

Haha,well spotted. It was put there on purpose after I discovered that if you use the relocator to put fish on the ground they will just 'swim' along at ground level.

 

It looks very strange but it is lovely, the fish ironically doesn't seem to care to much that he can longer breath anymore.

 

Expanded on my city thing a little. Not sure where to go from here lol. It's kinda just building upwards.

 

You shouldn't be sure. Improvisation fits the theme here.

It's an extreme wip, but it's coming together nicely, I think. It'll grow into nice avian colony once I'll get more furniture (or pixel printer).

 

Still a long way from being done, but since the forums seem kind of slow today I figured I'd drop in a couple of WIP shots of my deep sea laboratory for Frackin' Universe. Still to do .... the actual labs.

I always appreciate interesting, good, and original builds with new takes on what to build. Has anyone build a space station for a colony?

 

Your character is obviously human, so how did you craft the avali blocks on such a large scale without the proper crafting stations? Or is there a mod that allows all races, or just humans, to craft the avali stations?
Also nice job on the staircases.

 

We have but those were pre 1.0 and got wiped. It involved using a modded flying machine, can't recall what, that would take you up to the asteroid field where we could fly down to the planets to collect all the other ores/materials/loot we needed. Nowadays we simply don't have the motivation to crate our own builds

 

When I create a new character I admin in the nanolathe, which unlocks the schematic for it as well as serves as the basis for the rest of the avali crafting stations. After that point though I turn off access to admin in the config file to stop myself cheating in every little thing, because otherwise it's way too tempting "just to complete this" or "this could fit well but I don't have access to one".

I get it on my safe house location too, just the attacking bird monsters are extremely weak .
