That looks very dope Are you using pumps or something for the water source? I imagine being in a non-ocean planet that waterfall is gonna run dry quickly Wish I could even think of doing stuff like this or adding ideas like it to my world, but my game doesn't like it at all when liquids are doing that. Particularly terrible when it's also raining
It's quite easy actually. There is a mod with water sources, one with pressurized water sources and another with input and output pumps. This waterfall has 5 output sources at the end and one inside the cave. But you can use the sources directly too, I think. I wanted to increase the amount of water falling so I used pressurized sources. And the output components are more difficult to notice than the sources, so I used them on the waterfall to bring the water from the sources. With the smaller components, it looks more natural. Unfortunately, there is a limit when you add more water and it doesn't change the appearance on the top, it just increases the height of the water lump on the lake. I don't have problems with frame rates, but my game crashed when I mixed swamp water and normal water. I hope nothing bad happens when it rains.
I didn't know the water could go through it, never experimented much with those fences, besides under roofs and on balconies (in fact, this information gives me a few ideas, thank you for it). The little area to the left, though is perfect for that, you delete one block behind the bucket and voilà. And about the waterfalls, I don't know now, but there used to be mods that would let you place "infinite water", just like oceans. I think the "blocks" of infinite water are still in-game, just not very accessible.
I don't think there's any need to remove a block behind the bucket, I'm pretty sure that in much the same way that the water goes through the fence block (in this case my floor ) and sits on whatever next block comes after it, it also goes through the background, achieving the same effect as removing blocks Haven't really sat down to test it but so far I've had quite a few storms and water has never accumulated there inbetween the stone block and the fence gate, so yeah water must be getting drained from the back
The water source mod works just like that, but instead of a block it uses an object. It does look like a drain, so if you see it in the water it doesn't look natural... Here is how they look: I put two of each to show how they look on and off. On the left is the water source, then the water supply (pressurized) and the other four are the output pumps, normal and pressurized. But I didn't give them enough water on the input so they are not producing much. Anyway, the output pumps are smaller and easier to hide in the waterfall. Maybe the sources will work just fine if I paint the blocks blue. And don't mix liquids! Because that crashes the game when there are painted blocks in contact. It's what must have happened when I mixed swamp water. I must have painted something accidentally.

Early days of my Farm for my Apex, lots to do on it -like make it look actually decent and efficient!-
The Luna 4 colony so far. The big durasteel slab is going to be for a picture, once I figure out how signs work.
A colony I made for an achievement, heavily inspired by everything in this thread I'm not quite there yet
