Should there be a Pre-order?

if the would be a pre-order, I would totally buy the game. Even if I don't get any exclusive stuff for it, I would buy it. So that's a yes from me.

I would like the ability to pre-order the game. I agree that any pre-order exclusive items wouldn't be necessary. I would just be happy to pay for the game earlier then its release.

 

I think there should be Pre-Orders and like a exclusive paint jobs and decals on vehicles, exclusive armor and a exclusive paint on guns. I would pay 50+ bucks for a pre-order oh and a pet red panda oh and these are all while supplies last

 

Honestly for Starbound a pre-order isn't necessary. But nevertheless a pre-order would be nice. Everyone here on the forums will be purchasing it (I'm guessing).

I would like it better of they released a 4 pack purchase. That would be better than a pre-order, in my opinion.

I wouldn't want a preorder special item, I'd rather they have a preorder sale.
So you can buy it now, they get money to live on while the game is being made, and you get the game cheaper ($15 > $13.50 or something like this.)

 

The reason i would like to pre-order because i wan't to make sure i get this game soon as it comes out.

 

Personally I'd LOVE if Steam were starting to take pre-orders now/soon. It might be early, but I know I'm going to buy it and want to give the devs my money now. The reason is that it's possible for me at this time to so. I may not be able to in 3/4 months or whenever it's out. That and I'll know that as soon as the game is released I'll be able to play it without any payment worries or whatever. It would be more of a relief than anything else i guess.

Also, I wouldn't like any pre-order "bonus" to be included myself. Since when did the meaning of "Pre-order" change to "bonus, un-obtainable content" ??? ... Pre-order bonus' are unfair on the consumer. Some people may have wanted to pre-order, but couldn't at the time for whatever reasons. Everyone should be entitled to the same equal opportunity to access the same content. It's only fair...

Honestly, I'm ready to buy the game as soon as possible, but at the same time I believe that they would get much more done if don't have to constantly worry about playability for updates....

 

If there is a pre-order, the only thing extra you should get is a free Poptop Plushie doll, that can be placed in the space center as furniture.

 

Pre-order would be good for the developers because they could get a quick boost of money to help with the game. But if you put extra items, it could unbalance it for some people, unless it was hats

 

I would easily dish out $20 to make sure that i would get this game just because of the fact that steam summer sale is coming up soon and chances are i wont have any money to buy this when it comes out(because im a sucker for getting games for 70% off )

so yea, i think a pre order would be a great option, but i could care less about a bonus for pre-ordering, as long as im able to get this epic game, its bonus enough

 

I know for a game like this I would simply pay $30-$40 since this is one of those games I have been looking for. Hell maybe even $50 (Because I'm nice)

 

I there was a pre-order, it should be with no other bonuses, just and early purchase so the developers can get more funding during development. However with Tiy's new Idea, I don't think that it would be needed.

 

well if you pay for that you wouldn't be paying for starbound you would be helping fund the 2 developers and get the one developers game(not that that's bad) I would just rather pay for something that I want early and then get it when it comes out

 

I think a pre-order would be fine it gives you something to look forward to maybe a little something extra would be nice but nothing over powered that will make people who miss the pre-order think they were treated unfairly by not getting it.
